I want to clear some things up, I was on the Stand up Everett forum as Care4Everett - I DID send blanket emails to everyone when I found out the site was closing down. Here is the transcript between Jane and I, if this is the same Jane.

My friend, who helped me out with the fliers, needs help with the ethics complaint on the school committee members. Can any of you get in touch with her at 617.387.3639 or ktmndu@hotmail.com. Her name is Kathy Mccormack and she needs information on relatives of school committee members to file a comprehensive request with the state ethics board. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry -but the kathy mccormack i am talking about lives on villa ave - there is another kathy mccormack that worked for fred - i was not intentionally trying to mislead anyone, and i apologize for bothering you i won't email you anymore,. i just wanted to make sure you didn't think the school dept. mccormack had anything to do with this.

None of this was done through this site. My name is Caren Erwin, and I never signed anyone elses name. In fact I have gone over the top in giving out the names and manner in which to contact those who have agreed to let their identities be known.
Kathy has been forwarded the text of this and feels my using her name might cause confusion and problems I gave her the sight address so she may have something to say about this herself.
Sorry-Court for you getting blamed for something you had nothing to do with. Jane if you have a problem with this come to me about it and leave Kathy out of it.

Everyone,
There is one important condition of this forum that I want to reiterate. There will be no slandering of other members of the forum. Do not accuse people openly of wrongdoing on the board. First, private message the individual. Also, private message me or email me. If there is an issue that needs to be worked out, I'm sure the involved parties would rather respond privately in a civil fashion without having to retaliate against other people's accusations that simply make the situation worse.
If a member violates this rule by repeatedly slandering other users, I may have to ban him/her from the boards. I also reserve the right to delete such posts if they are simply slander and offensive to the accused member. We need to leave space on the boards free from flame attacks and back and forth personal bickering so that a real debate can exist.
If any member issues serious threats of some kind of punishment or retribution for comments made here, this will also not be tolerated and a ban would be my only option. I am going to leave this rule broad at this point to give as much wiggle room as possible. I don't want to ban anybody. I don't want to put into place rules that would limit free expression. This is simply to get rid of unnecessary and hurtful comments and actions that do not further the debate. You all basically should know what I mean and will know it when you see it.
Please email me or prvate message me if you see this going on. I will look into it. I will contact the individual so you do not need to confront them head on. And PLEASE contact the other member and me if you have an accusation against another member related to this board (such as they are spamming me or something).
The discussion I heard about mass emails led me to the opinion that they should be allowed because you can Opt-out. However, I will receive the mass emails, so unless the member is emailing each member but me individually, I will know what is going on.

| Thanks Michael, and as I stated, nothing on a broad scale was done here, and I, unlike many others, choose to sign my name and make myself available offline. My reasons for responding openly, was to make sure the people who were accused were "cleared" and the actions I took to make sure everyone on the other blog could stay involved in our initiative was done only because the blog was closing. |

If Jane decided to report anyone for board misbehavior , she should report it to me first. That being said, I have taken advantage of the private messaging system. I need to know Jane's objection and action in more detail before I would take any action. Personally, I think getting reported is kind of a hollow threat at this point. It seems like simply having an opinion about an issue can make you a target, so I don't think being "reported" could make any real difference. On the other hand, being labeled as an enemy of a certain person can reveal a lot about that person's agenda. Anyone motivated enough to announce "you've been reported" must feel pretty secure if you know what I mean...
Anyway, lets give Jane and Michael (Mary Poppins? :P ) a chance to respond before we jump to any conclusions. I think we should give everyone a chance to defend themselves.

| could be - I sent the email to everyone that was a member in the Stand up forum. It was so close to the end of the forum that many may not have had a chance to get it. Poor you for getting blamed! What is that saying, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions"? |

| OOPS, I mean wicked..:>0 I din't get an email..I think the whole point is that what you were and are trying to accomplish is very admirable..People need to try and help get rid of Fred..What we need to do is put pressure on the school committee as to whom we the people want to fill the at large seat.. |

You guys kill me - Believe me, I tried to get everyone on the board, but if anyone feels left out, I’ll put a happy little holiday email together, if you haven't opted out!
I believe they will vote to fill the seat before the new members are sworn in. Please correct me; I am trying to remember what they did when there was the tie in ward 1 council years ago with chickie and joe. If that's true = the old regime picks, and that does not bode well for the city. No big, if I have my way 4 members will have to step down within 3 months of the year anyway.
