The story behind the story was printed in the Boston Herald today. It details the dustup between EHA members and Mayor Hanlon.
DUO SAYS MAYOR SEEKING REVENGE
Two Everett officials say they are being targeted for retaliation because they voted to fire the son of the city's influential school chief for sexual harrassment.
The Everett Housing Authority members were among the three on the five-member board who voted to fire Frederick Foresteire Jr. from his $36,000-a-year janitor's job in December after two arbitrators ruled that he sexually harrassed two women while working for the authority.
"I believe I was targeted because of the vote on the superintendent's son" said EHA board member Joseph J. Guliano.
The city's new mayor, John Hanlon, a close ally of Superintendent Frederick Foresteire, earlier this year tried to fire Guiliano and James Camarerio as well as EHA member Gloria Keane, who could not be reached. All three had voted to fire the school chief's son. But they rebuffed the move by arguing successfully tht state law prohibited it.
Hanlon did not retrun a phone call seeking comment.
"If (Mayor Hanlon) is looking for vacancies (on the housing authority), there are two people there he could replace." Camarerio said.
An arbitrator ruled that the Housing Authority was on sound footing to fire Foresteire Jr. Arbitrator Marilyn H. Zuckerman wrote that one "very credible" woman said Foresteire Jr. blew on her neck and asked her to sit on his lap and perfor a lap dance.
Foresteire Jr.'s lawyer, Mark G. Kaplan denied any sexual harrassment by his client. Superintendent Foresteire is facing charges that he had two school-bought air conditioners installed in his home.

Thanks Court, the Pup pointed that out to me this morning.
"Hanlon did not return a phone call"......typical of this administration.
What would Hanlon say to the paper? "I can't trust those people"?
It's Freddie's kid you can't trust.

Mayor Hanlon doesn't return phone calls unless they're going to be easy questions. You know, like:
"John, can you pick up some bread on the way home from the office?" Answer: "Yes, dear."
"John, can you create some new jobs at city hall?"
Answer: "Yes, dear."
"John, can we spend the "free cash" that was meant for a tax break this year on a new rec center?" Answer: "Yes, dear."
"John, can you fire the three people who voted against my kid at the Everett Housing Authority?" Answer: "Yes, dear."
"John, can you pay these bills for the school department?" Answer: "Yes, dear." |

| How long, do you suppose, before the details of Junior's antics become public. The report is quite the eye opener -- or stomach turner, depending on your perception. He's lucky criminal charges weren't brought against him -- he should be grateful all he lost was his job. |

| No . . . none of them will, and frankly, I wouldn't want my grandmother, my mother or my daughter to read the details of what is in that report. It's disgusting. |

I agree lizbeth, BUT.....
The public should know the type of sexual predators that are lurking out there.
Including Freddie's pathetic kid.
$36K and all the lap dances he can get....

True, Emile. But since no criminal charges were brought against him, unfortunately we won't be seeing his picture posted at the police station. As I said -- he should be grateful he's not in jail. Sadly, as with most sex offenders, he doesn't think he did anything wrong.
If you can get a hold of it, the report makes for . . . . interesting reading. |

| The report is nasty; the article in the Herald doesn't even mention the most disturbing stuff that little Freddy did. The report is 70 pages long. |

| You may obtain a copy at the Everett Housing Authority; I think the cost is $15. It should be required reading for mothers, sisters and aunts everywhere...so if anyone tries to "excuse" Little Freddy's behavior, he will automatically get one upside the head. |
