Poll Question:
Would you vote for a new charter, even if the 4 year term for the Mayor was apart of it.

Results:
Yes   [71%] 15 votes

I don't understand this. Is the charter commission going to make all the changes and we vote for the charter as a whole.....or......wouldn't something like this be on the ballot? I believe the single branch government will go on the ballot, so why not the mayoral term?

I'm not following.

I believe there will only be one vote to approve all the Charter changes as a whole.

Its an all or nothing thing. The Charter is voted on as a whole. You cant pick the things you like and vote yes and the things you dont like and vote no on.

So, let's just say they make 10 changes. And you like 6 out of the 10. You have to ask yourself, "Yeah I like these 6 but what about the other 4 I dont like?"

The single branch gov is not on the ballot as a question (even though I think it should have been done that way). The only question that is going to be on the ballot is if you approve of this new city charter and ALL of its changes. That's it.

I love how the vote stays pretty much constant on both sides, and then suddenly jumps up come Monday. I purposely made this poll on a Friday because I knew this was going to happen.

Taking the results from the weekend, it was pretty much a 50:50 split and that's what I'm going with.

I'll be closing the poll soon so hurry up and get people voting so, the results can be skewed even more!
