I really do not understand why this practice has changed after all these years of being consistent. I've heard different stories, all out of city hall about the reasons. The ONLY reason not having agendas posted in a timely manner is... we are unable to contact out elected officials about items on the agenda, until it’s too late. That order can only come from the corner office. I'm not buying it that people are too busy. We have too many on the payroll as it is. This takes 30 seconds to do. It has become a very unfriendly and uncooperative to the residents.

I hope we get dollar figures on Sergio's item 13 and Brian better be truthful. It's time to start comparing what these contractors are charging, and what other surrounding cities are getting charged. And, Ken Giannelli needs to stop using these meetings to self-center himself.

After all the neglect the D. C. R. has done here then Giannei wants to give them praise. Do that and you wont hear from them no more. Take count of how many times tonight you hear waive the reading and people that want to blast through the meeting with no thought.

They have been talking about this dog park for four years now. I'm in agreement with former councilor Steve Simonelli about the liability. I remember how intense he was about this issue. Gotta miss Steve Simonelli, it's boring without him.

Another horrific meeting and if having Tony Raneri standing in as President is a sign that what he said two years ago is any inkling of what's ahead.... I'm done. I'm voting and supporting Charter, just to do away with this useless branch, and won't care about all the other wrong things in there.

And as for Serg...SPELL IT FOR ME SERG.... it's NOT.....................

N A P O L A T A N O......it's ....N A P O L I T A N O. Time to get it right. It's disrespectful!

In my opinion, just a frivolous added expense....building the dog park and then paying employees to keep it clean and maintained. Save it as a project for better economic times.

Can someone please explain to me what item #2 is about? Does creating this fund take these line items out of the budget thus back dooring Prop 2 1/2? It also sounds like the City Council will be losing some control. Am I right?

Massdee, sounds like you are correct on item 2. Also sounds like someone was "asked" to put that on. Just like the water/sewer has been removed from the budget, I'm quite certain this will too. The city council need to take more control, not hand it over to people that can't balance money.

I'd also like clarification as to why non-working street lights are on the agenda? Isn't that a phone call or a report to National Grid? You can report these outages right on their website: You must be logged in to see this link.
I do think item 6 is an exceptional case, and the city service director does need to intervene...but why does it take putting an item on an agenda to get things done?? These things are basic day to day operations.

I could be taking this the wrong way.....Why does Tony Raneri care about storage bins in Target's parking lot? Maybe their employees use them for bicycles, or whatever? Again.... this is a phone call. He can call Target as the ward six councilor....... and then if he wants to make a public service announcement on what the storage bins are for at a CC meeting, that would be fine. It's such a waste of time, to make a representative from Target come out, and have Marzie stay for something.....that is probably nothing. It's ridiculous. Find out what it's about first, then if it's a problem, call these people up. This is why this branch goes around and around and around with the same issues.....aka - Best Buy.

I Googled "what is a linkage fee revolving fund", it showed that the City of Somerville has a "Linkage Fee Ordinance". Why am I not surprised?

I thought Jason's speech was out of line and inappropriate. First, to interrupt in the middle of a vote for a point of personal privilege is absurd. Save it to the end of the meeting.

To use a public meeting to declare his innocence.... and it was a one sided story from him never should have been allowed. Have the woman there to tell her side too! It was a mockery and just proves more to me that political influence did take place here.

Facts are facts and one fact is when you are able to procrastinate for two years, most of the time these cases get dismissed. Malden court is a joke.
