That's what I thought.
Court,
Are you suggesting that he may leave Everett?

I don't know for sure what the Chief will do. He has the option of staying as Captain, because it's a civil service position. He also has the opportunity to take a Chief's position in another community. These jobs come up in the smaller towns. I heard that Chelmsford was looking for a Chief. |

Isn't there a rumor that Dave Ragucci has applied for Winthrop city manager?
That would be interesting, the former Mayor of Everett and the former Police Chief of Everett together again in a different city.
by the way, Happy New Year to All!!

Good for him! Always liked him, glad he's working.
Why do other cities and towns (Salem is a good example) hire qualified people and Everett Mayors put in friends and relatives???

Well, Emile - you know that they had to force Coppola out. Freddy wanted him gone for revealing the mismanagement, the slush fund and everything else. What Fred wants - John will deliver. |

Of course they forced Skip out. Freddie was smiling big time tonight on TV.
Hearing rumors that the new building department head will actually be two part timers.
nice guys, but very, very old.....
83 years old and 75 years old...respectively.
That makes a full time 158 year old department head.
The good OLD, and I do mean OLD, days are back at city hall.
Just waiting for Johnny Mac to make an appearance.
The Pup says that will be the frosting on the cake.
BTW: The Pup was dissappointed he couldn't shovel snow today...what's up with the lame forcast?
...ah well.

Weather forecasting is about the only profession, Emile, in which you can be wrong 75% of the time and still be employed.
Who are these old guys that will be running the building department?
Johnny Mac will be back. Like a bad penny....so what position do you forsee for the hefty one? What about Marchese? |

Mandracchia(83) and Colameta(75) 19 hours each
I have a feeling there will be a city manager soon and Hanlon will retire. That manager will be Johnny Mac.....hope I'm wrong....
No info on Marchese yet....
Hell, I'm working on getting a clerk typist position for the Pup.

Good luck with the clerk typist position. The pup won't really have to type too fast - not with this administration! |

It's my understanding that Mr. Hanlon does not use email to contact anyone.
His staff in the clerk's office sends emails on his behalf.
Any department head (or former dept head) that has been in his office has reported that his computer is always off.
I assume he does not know how to use a computer.
Another step backward for progress for this city.
perhaps the Pup can help out....hmmmm

Well, this is unfortunate, but explains much. I know someone who was wondering why John never responded to his email. Now we know why.
Even my parents use email - and they are older than John. So it's not age - it's the willingness to learn something new. This bodes well for the city. |

Michael is the person who brought the City Clerk's office out of the stone age. John Hanlon never felt internet access to the ordinances was necessary.
The inauguration looked like a geriatric ward.
This City is in trouble....
old, Old, OLD!!
