Sorry Louie - I moved this topic to a better location. It deserved to be under it's own topic, rather than under the rec center!
On the Top of Page 15, "Alleged School Scammer Still on Job". Lona DeFeo, convicted by a jury of her peers, is still employed by our "noble" school department, and unimpeded by the "watchful" eye of our school committee, at least until Joe Guliano gets a hold of the issue.
So, what's next? What will it take for Freddy's house of cards to fall? We have not just Lona's conviction, but at least three vendors have been convicted as well.
Tomorrow is another day. Scarlett O'Hara

Is it in todays (Saturdays) paper? There should be a story on the news soon also. Maybe the pressure will make the school committee move and do something.

Sally - Yes, it is in today's Boston Herald. We can only hope that the television media can pick the story up. Wouldn't you love to see this whole cast of characters on the news? I would love to have Bergantino chasing Fred up to his front door.
Louie- I thought "Community" was a good topic, because this isn't just politics. This is a community issue. We're all taxpayers and we all have a right to speak out on this issue. |

Yes that would be great. CBS has been in touch with me, they are working on something.

Well, if CBS is working on the story...may be it will be an investigative piece? So it won't get in the way of the DeLay story or the Pats. I hope so. This city NEEDS a thorough airing. |

Not to be nitpicky . . . but isn't it more likely that it's WBZ, not CBS. CBS is national . . . and while we feel the story is important, it's not likely that a national news organization will. Hell, our own local newspapers have barely given this story a nod! |

What's with this "alleged" stuff. Lona Defeo is a convicted felon. |

Why should Everett be any different than anywhere else? Convicted felons get fired. It's what happens. |

here is one for you I was talking to a woman last nite down at the mall in medford who is from everett she was telling me that someone cut a check for capolla in the amount of 8,000 two-three weeks ago and this woman signed her name to the check and now she is worried about her job. I guess the new administration found out about it last week (I just wonder if it is true has anyone heard) |

Joanne Gregory should be the only person signing checks until her dismissal date.
Perhaps this woman should not have signed it.
she knew who it was for, and for such a large amount, and should have realised the repercussions.
