I will let it go Ms Sally but, you did insinuate that the kid was reading the blog. "Sean was upset at the thought of people believing he was mentally challenged" |

Here is the problem------
On 02/14/2007 at 6:58:32 PM Fran posted the following------
"Earlier this season, playing JV, Sean sunk some free throws to beat Waltham. You have to give Coach Dib credit for giving this kid a chance. That's a part of Dib's character that never gets discussed. Just look at all those other kids that have their own challenges that help out with football and basketbll as "managers". Dib is always there for them. In fact one kid Anthony, has been managing since the early 90's."
The key words in Fran's post are "ALL THOSE OTHER KIDS"--It didn't mean Sean--it meant the other kids that have their own challenges.
Apparently someone thought that post meant Sean had the same challenge as the "managers' in the post and that is not true.

Sureshot hero scores honor By Colneth Smiley Jr. Tuesday, July 31, 2007 - Updated: 10:51 AM EST
When Sean Cronk landed two free throws and secured the win for Everett High’s Crimson Tide during last February’s Greater Boston League title game, he never thought his efforts, regardless of his handicap, would bring him nationwide attention. “I didn’t expect all this,” said Cronk, who will be awarded an engraved Boston Celtics [team stats] “Heroes Among Us” trophy at the Statehouse today. Cronk, who has cerebral palsy, practiced hard to get on his school’s basketball team. Although the disease hampers his ability to run, it was his precision in free throws and shooting that got him on the team. “I just do what I do,” he said. “If you work hard you’ll get rewarded, and I’m grateful the award came to me.” Since that memorable game, Cronk’s underdog story has gone beyond local coverage, with spots on numerous radio shows, an article in Sports Illustrated and guest appearances on FOX and ESPN. “Even before all this brouhaha, Sean’s been a good kid,” said Catherine Cronk, Sean’s mother. “He does the best he can in school, and I’ve been blessed.” And the blessings are rolling in. An entertainment company has bought the rights to Sean’s story, and a Texas millionaire was so moved, he offered to pay for Sean’s way through college. “This has snowballed and we are truly excited,” said Sean’s mother. “How do you thank someone who’s gonna take care of everything for college?” she asked. Cronkis considering going to the University of Massachusetts or Northeastern University. “I want to be a gym teacher and a coach,” said Cronk, who’s also been asked to be a motivational speaker. “I want to teach kids how to play basketball. This can an inspiration to kids with disabilities. If I can do it anybody can do it.”
