As I drove down Broadway last night, I realized the Christmas lights are still on the poles and lit! Can anyone think of a justifiable reason for this? I see it as an additional expense that we can't afford because someone isn't doing their job............

That is so funny. I noticed them last night too and said the same thing to my other half.

I have been noticing this for the past couple of weeks. I believe the Mayor is still away, and because his HIGH PRICED know nothing director of City Services doesn't live in this city,he doesn't notice they are still lit, nor does he care, he's not a taxpayer here, but you think he would be smart enough to KNOW they have to be taken down. You can put him in an expensive suit, but you can't give him the brains to do what is right.

Didn't the mayor hire a private contractor to put the Christmas lights up? Maybe he forgot to hire them to take them down. At the very least, they could shut them off so we aren't paying for the electricity to keep them lit.

I was on Broadway last night down the Malden end. The Christmas lights are still lit down there too.
