We heard what we first thought was firecrackers, but someone was shot and killed last night 5/4 around 8:30. Nothing on the news. Anyone hear about it?

This is unconfirmed but what I am hearing there was a shooting on Coburn Terrace near the entrance to Glendale Park by EHS. They are saying the victim was shot twice and succumbed to his injuries.
I am also hearing there was a stabbing last night on Chestnut Street near Everett Credit Union. |

you need to get a scanner massdee, your missing all the action, it was like dorchester here last nite, and today three kids rushed to hospital for inhaling dry ice at the whitter school that is on the bostonchannel.com website, marchese is correct they need curfews in this city, it's going to be a very long summer in the glendale area, we need a chief who lives in this community never mind phone calls to the station when things happen, and we need a mayor who has the balls to get a chief who cares, that being said, it will never happen, so marchese keep fighting for us I know you try and you get no where |

It is so sad when a young life is lost, especially in such a violent nature. May God bless him. |

The Boston Globe Shootings leave 1 dead, 2 hurt Attacks in Revere, Everett, Chelsea By John M. Guilfoil Globe Staff / May 6, 2010
CHELSEA — A man died in Everett, a 17-year-old in Chelsea was clinging to life, and a man was recovering after being attacked in Revere following separate shootings Tuesday, in what police called a rash of violence in three cities north of Boston.
At about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, Ronald Palacios, a student at Chelsea High School, was shot in the head on Suffolk Street, police said. Palacios was identified in an e-mail sent to Chelsea educators obtained by the Globe. The high school originally reported that he died of his wound, but Chelsea Police Captain Keith Houghton said Palacios was still hanging on last night at Massachusetts General Hospital.
At about 5:15, Revere police responded to the corner of Beach and Harris streets, where they found a 36-year-old man from Woburn shot in the neck. He was also taken to Mass. General, and was expected to survive, police said. His name was not released.
And in Everett, at 9 p.m., police found David King, 28, who was shot twice, on Colburn Terrace. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Whidden Hospital, Everett police said.
Authorities said the shootings do not appear to be connected.
The motive for the shooting of the Chelsea High student was unclear, but authorities said it does not appear to be a random act. Police are investigating a possible gang connection.
If Palacios does not survive, it would be Chelsea’s second homicide this year. The city, which has been working for years to revitalize itself, had no slayings last year.
The shooting took place near Chelsea’s Bellingham Square neighborhood, where police in January teamed with federal agents to arrest 16 suspected gang members in an effort to clean up the area, where much of the crime in the city occurs.
Revere police do not suspect gang activity in the shooting there. Late Tuesday night, officers arrested a man in connection with the case, but his name has not been released.
Police there are still investigating a brazen drive-by shooting on Saturday afternoon in which three people were shot, none fatally. Police believe one was targeted.
“It’s a rash of shootings,’’ said Revere police Lieutenant Joseph Cafarelli. “We’re trying to piece them all together. Some are related, some aren’t.’’

Everett Woman's Death Suspicious EVERTT (WBZ) #8213;
Police in Everett are investigating 72-year-old Carol Whyte's death.
They have deemed her death suspicious, but otherwise are staying tight-lipped.
Neighbors say shortly after noon Monday they heard sirens, and shortly after saw police stringing up yellow tape around Whyte's house on Lynn Street.
Police say a Meals On Wheels volunteer found Whyte's body in a pool of blood in her kitchen.
They are investigating whether she fell or was the victim of an attack.
Neighbors tell WBZ that Whyte lived in the home for decades, and she has endured numerous family tragedies.
They also say she had several spats with her neighbors and was not very friendly with anyone.
Police are also trying to determine when Whyte died, and who was he last person to see her alive.
Anyone who may have seen Whyte or have information regarding this case is urged to call either Everett Police department at 617-394-2356 or contact the State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office at 781-897-6600.

you know I have an idea, if they brought back all the retired officers and form a patrol for all the sections of the city we might be safe again all they have to do is use their cell phones to call in what they see, does anyone agree? no pay, just breaks on their tax bill or water bill like they are doing now for elderly working at the connolly center the people who work gets break on their tax bill, I think it's a great idea |

It definitely sounds like something to consider. Anyone else have any ideas? It really is starting to get scary. I now make sure all my doors and windows are locked, even when we are at home. |
