Oh, I think that he is eligible to run. But if he was an independent on October 31, he has skip the primary and run only in the final election. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for him or not. It seems that the primary is going to be crowded (I heard that DiFlorio might be pulling papers this week too); so he could get lost in a primary. But who knows if the largely democratic base (well, at least it used to be) in the city would consider him as an independent. |

Just for the record--DiFlorio is unenrolled so no primary for her. |

I think I'm going to disconnect my phone for awhile.... I don't think I can take another round of phone calls from, for, or about a candidate. |

Here we go another local election being confused with special elections. Hopefully this and the US Senate seat will be the only ones we will be subjected to this year. If Mike Capuano were to run and win that would be another to fill his seat and depending on who ran for the Congressional seat, we could potentially see another. By the time our local primary gets here, people will be sick of going out to vote. God help us. |

I just read over on Topix that Dave Rodrigues is the new HR Director and that he will be wearing two hats. Is this true? |

I heard he was acting HR Director as Bob Joy was fired last week. I think we as citizens have a right to know the justification for the firing, since we pay the salaries. This is not the private sector and there seems to be a lot of firings lately ( i .e. Parking Clerk) with the mayor comfortably out of sight in Aruba. Why do these things happen when he's conveniently not around?

So, the HR director who gets 6.6% increase in his salary, while other department heads get a 3% increase and the unions are offered a 1.5% increase, has to be fired a little more than six months later. Wonder how that makes the other department heads and the union members feel? |

Isn't it funny that he manages to leave so much of the dirty work to other people? I wish I had kept track of how many people he brought onboard & then canned. |

I head that the new HR Director worked at Cataldo Ambulance. Perhaps he will be introduced at tonight's meeting. |

Are you saying his replacement was all lined up before Bob Joy was terminated? |

Yes, it certainly appears that way. |

Are we to assume this is concerning him?
