Although the meeting is in Malden, it affects bus routes in Everett and or course large fare increases this July.
Mayor issues reminder on Malden MBTA meeting
North of Boston — Mayor Gary Christenson today issued a reminder that there will be a public meeting on the proposed MBTA cuts this Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6-8 PM at City Hall, 200 Pleasant Street, 3rd Floor, in the Council Chambers.
“At this meeting, we will have the opportunity to discuss with MBTA General Manager Jonathan Davey the potential devastating cuts to bus service in Malden, which would render many of our residents with no transportation” said Christenson. The public is strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. Among the many bus routes slated to be cut in Malden are the 106, 108, 411 and 430. “We need to rally together as a community against these cuts,” said Mayor Christenson.
Attendees are encouraged to park at the Florence Street lot (behind the Heritage Apartment Building, 195 Pleasant Street) or the Jackson Street Parking Garage, 7 Jackson Street (next to the Bank of America building).
