I WANT TO KNOW WHY CITY EMPLOYEES CAN GET NEW STICKERS NOW AND WE THE TAXPAYERS HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL WEDNESDAY? THIS IS NOT FAIR GAME AT ALL, PEOPLE ARE HOME TODAY AND BACK TO WORK & SCHOOL WED.
THEIR ANSWER PARK YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE FOR A COUPLE OF NIGHT, AND I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT TAKES EFFECT IN MARCH, THAT IS JUST NOT MY POINT

City Hall closed @ noon........... That's part of the reason. The rest is that since Mr Kelly retired, they haven't had anyone in there who knew what they were doing.
The idiot from Winthrop didn't last long & didn't do anything in that department when she was there anyway. Mrs Latanzi is trying to fill in but she can't do the job when he insists on her being upstairs or running personal errands for him.
He should have put Mr Kelly's wife in that position. She was the woman behind the man from the day he took that position under the McCarthy administration.... |

I think "she" was as far from an idiot as you can get for splitting town working for that Numbskull-In-Charge!

I think there was another "Carlo" incident and she pushed back and quit. She was not the type to put up with his crap. |

I was told she was in way over her head & it became obvious very quickly. But.............. your take on it is a lot more interesting! |

It's easier for the administration to say she was in over her head than to admit to Carlo's faults. More than one female has left that building in disgust at the treatment she received at the "hands" of the Mayor--and not just employees. Women need to know that they should never meet with him alone. |

My information isn't from the administration, or friends of the administration.
There are many employees at City Hall that said shortly after she arrived that she had no clue. And let's face it, does anyone seriously believe being the parking clerk in a town the size of Winthrop prepares a person to be the parking clerk in a city the size of Everett?
She wore multiple hats in Winthrop for numerous part time positions. Definitely NOT what we need here. Most females over the age of 20 are capable of recognizing our womanizing piece of crap mayor for what he is. Michelle is certainly old enough & has been around enough to know what she was getting into........
It's really too bad Mr Kelly retired.

I believe she had the knowledge and drive to do a good job. Unfortunately, the other IT person quit before she started and the main server crashed and required her undivided attention for 2-3 days. Given time and the support of her staff she may have been successful. However, she was destined to fail with the way things have been going on at City Hall. Carlo likes to split department head jobs giving 2 positions to one person. I would rather see hiring a person who would be dedicated to improving their department and paying them a reasonable salary, not the high wages that have been given out. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Karas was hired until Carlo was ready to let Delores take over parking. Just my thoughts, but food for thought. |

Yes, Carlo keeps combining jobs & it doesn't work but, he keeps doing the same thing & expecting different results. Unfortunately, I don't recall any of our other elected officials questioning the decision.... But, as I said, Michelle isn't a kid & in my opinion, knew what she was getting into.
As far as Delores goes, I don't think she's interested in the job. What she's doing is a heck of a lot easier than the parking clerk's position & I understand she's being well compensated. |

I JUST FOUND THIS OUT LAST NIGHT, I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT, DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW THAT THEY DO NOT TAG THE STREETS DOWN THE VILLAGE DUE TO THE WAY THEY HAVE TO PARK, CAN THIS BE TRUE? WHY WE ARE PAYING FINES IN OTHER PARTS OF THE CITY, IT'S FREE PARKING ON KELVIN, MAY, HEATH, MONTROSE, PLYMOUTH ALFRED, AND WELLINGTON AVE. AND LET ME TELL YOU HOW I FOUND OUT, WHEN FOR MY STICKER YESTERDAY AND WAS TOLD BY A METER MAID, THEY DON'T EVEN DO THE VILLAGE. NICE SO OTHER PEOPLE PAY FOR CONGESTION DOWN THE VILLAGE.
GIVE ME A BREAK, EVERYONE SHOULD APPEAL THEIR TICKETS |

Parking in this city is terrible but the streets you named are probably the worst & I think not ticketing them is reasonable as long as the fire trucks can get through.
How do you figure people "OTHER PEOPLE PAY FOR CONGESTION DOWN THE VILLAGE"? Does your illegally parked vehicle affect parking there in some way? What are you going to appeal? If you parked illegally & got a ticket, it's valid. When you park illegally & don't get a ticket, do you run to city hall & pay a fine because you didn't get caught?

Let me re-pharse, how does one know if they have new stickers if they don't even go down there, (that is my point) parking is a problem everywhere but if other streets are getting a ticket for sticker new or old why should the village be exempt. |

I might not understand this entirely but I would think that parking is at premium on those streets, making it even more important to enforce residential parking requirements on them.
An appeal of other residential parking tickets due to uneven enforcement doesn't seem to be a winning proprosition IMHO. But if you do believe that it is a fairness issue, I'd suggest contacting a councilor or alderman who might be willing to champion the issue for you. |

I have a friend with family down there & I know they always get resident stickers. I don't think they'd bother if there wasn't any enforcement.
Maybe not enforcing there is something new? They made some changes regarding street sweeping & towing. Maybe because of the extreme congestion down there, they stopped enforcement. |
