As soon as I saw Miller's picture with Ed Connolly and both their names in big letters in the Independent Wednesday I knew she would get spanked for putting that in the paper.

That was a classless move and it resulted in a letter from Connolly's family in todays Leader Herald saying that it was an UNAUTHORIZED ad.

What makes some people tick ?

The same type of people who hide things from the MIAA about certain students who were caught in the act of breaking the law and not punished AT ALL because they are athletes. Must be nice to be a member of certain families in this city.

boy they really must want nuzzo to win what do you think? Here is my opinion on it If Nuzzo wins Van Campen is taking the president of the BOA. if Stat Smith wins you will see Marchese taking back the Ward 3 Seat and from what I hear sit back grab popcorn and watch the fire fly with this new adminsistration or should I say "old people administration"

I believe if Nuzzo wins you may see Stat run for Mayor. However, I think Rosemary Miller is going to hurt Nuzzo because both want/have Connelly votes and each are going to take votes away from the other. If Stat wins I think Nuzzo will just remain Alderman. However, Joe Hickey might upset the whole applecart and might win as a dark horse candidate; after all it is Everett. Hickey has to be worth 200-250 votes alone and whoever loses between Nuzzo and Smith, they may want their people to vote for Hickey, in the hopes of running against him next year if they lose this time around.

Louie, I do agree with you though that if Smith wins Marchese will take back the Ward 3 seat. However, I dont think Van Campen will be elected the president. I believe McGonagle will be since he will probably be running for mayor and people equate Van Campen with Hanlon, which isn't really a good thing as of right now.

Louie---Who is the THEY that wants Smith to win ?

He is getting a ton of money from OUT OF TOWNERS and the GAY movement !!

What does this bode for Everett in the future ?

Smith voted against making the Veteran's Administrator full time and he voted against the Pre Kindergarten school opening--Then he puts in his ad that he is for Veterans and Education !!

Interesting combo here--Money from GAY RIGHTS PEOPLE and OUT OF TOWNERS but to heck with the VETERANS and PRE SCHOOL kids who live in EVERETT !!

Paul - you crack me up. You're more afraid of out-of-towners and gays than you are of the corrupting influences of Fred Foresteire, our own little "hometown hero?" Nuzzo is Fred's handpicked candidate and everyone knows that the Advocate is doing Fred's dirty work with those "editorials", and John Dowd, Freddy's ad guy is writing Nuzzo's ads.

I thought Smith voted against a full-time veteran's administrator because the budget was already 7 million bucks higher than last year's and the position had previously been part-time. Correct me if I'm wrong. The bottom line, Paul - you can't have stuff if you don't have the money to pay for it. You can't deficit spend.

Of course I crack you up---how about the Pre K School--why did he vote against that ?

You might be able to live with that stuff but as a Veteran with kids in the Everett schools he will never get my vote.

Which raises another question--Are his children in the Everett schools ?

Paul - was there money in the budget for the Pre-K already? Hanlon just delivered a budget that was bloated with new hires and raises...how was the pre-K going to get paid for? As long as Freddy's paying for the Pre-K with his budget, that's fine. But if not - that means we've got to cough it up, on top of a budget that was already millions of dollars over last year's budget.

And Paul - Stat's three daughters have already graduated. Two of his daughters graduated from Everett High. Why you think that's so important is surprising when so many kids in this community go to Pope John, Malden Catholic or some other non-public school.

Don't try and confuse the issue---Smith voted against the Pre K that is good for parents and children alike.

Smith then puts out a flier that says he is fighting for better schools for our children---WHAT A JOKE !

By the way, the flier was PAID FOR BY "MASS EQUALITY" !!

Mass Equality is the Organization that promotes the cause of Marriage Rights for GAYS and LESBIANS---now I woner why MASS EQUALITY would pay for Smith's flier ??????

Why doesn't Mr. Smith brag about his affiliation with them instead of hiding it ?

This is like a sick joke !!!!!!!

Smith votes against the Veterans Administrator and the Pre K Schools for Everett kids but is right there to SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE RIGHTS--GIVE ME A BREAK !

Paul, was the full time veterans' administrator position approved in spite of Smith's opposition?

Paul, why don't you just admit your problem is that you're a bigot and be done with it? You obviously are only concerned with the fact that Smith is aligned with a group that you don't agree with. It's time to face facts pal, everyone has a right to marry whomever they choose.

Well, Paul, isn't it a shame that with a full time veterans' administrator, the city couldn't see fit to put together a ceremony to commemorate the 5th anniversary of 9/11, an event that launched us into war, increasing the number of people enlisting in the armed services and, thereby, increasing the number of veterans? And let's not forget that Everett lost two of its own five years ago today, and yet the city, with its ridiculous pursuit of revenge against the previous administration and a bloated budget, couldn't see fit to cough up a few bucks to mark this day?

Paul- you profess to be Mr. Conservative, so how it it that you want a pre-kindergarten without the money to pay for it? Why is it that Bill was able to run the veteran's office part-time, but Walter Rice can't? There's no confusion here, my friend. The tax bill cometh, Paul...let's see who starts screaming first?
