I know many people are hesitant to use their real names in the forum. However, if anyone would like to take part/sign this petition you can email me at the below email address. This is an online petition that we would like to present at the Jan. 4 Boston Water and Sewer Commission meeting in Charlestown. It is my sincere hope that you all will add your names on to this petition and forward it on to as many friends, relatives, and co-workers from the City of Everett as possible.

All you need to do is cut and paste the instructions, wording, and signatures into a new email, add your name, and forward it on to your contacts. If you have any quesitons feel free to contact me at christopherj.keohan@gmail.com. (I also have hard copies for people wanting to sign, but without an email address). The residents of Everett need to have thier voices heard, and this is just one of the many ways to do just that.

The meeting is scheduled for January 4th at the Charlestown Knights of Columbus.

Please...every 100th signer send this petition back. All of the electronic signatures will be presented to the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and MEPA.

To Whom It May Concern

As a resident/business owner/worker in the City of Everett, I would like to officially express my opposition to the proposed waste handling facility located on Alford St. at the Everett/Boston border. This proposal has not addressed any of the concerns from the citizens of Everett, including, but not limited to our environment, our economy, or our health. We respectfully urge officials from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston to reconsider this ill-conceived plan, and move on from this proposed site.

Sincerely,

Name Address Phone

Thank you very much bb. If anyone is interested, I have worked with some of the local elected officials from both sides of the proverbial aisle to host a brainstorming meeting on December 20th at 7 P.M. It will be in the City Hall chambers. We would like anyone that would like to take a leadership role in helping to stop the facility to attend. Anyone that is against this project will have their voices heard at a meeting to be held after the New Year. This will be huge (hopefully). For the sake of the meeting on the 20th we ask that it be kept to people willing to lead up petition gathering teams and local activists that can help lead the way in organizing. We will develop a final Public Relations, Grassroots, and Legal plan there so it needs to be focused on ideas and volunteering more than opinions on the project.

I hope anyone willing to join our growing team can come. I wanted to make sure people knew that business leaders, elected officials, and local activists are coming up with a plan and meeting so that we can ALL have our voices heard loudly and clearly.

I promise to update eveyrone with the results and plan.
