Absolutely right, massdee. Check his voting record....and his behavior during the state sudit debate in 2005. One sentence in the whole audit states that city government bore some responsibility in its management of school department finances; that alderman ran defense for Freddy, and kept blaming the city for then entire mess. With uncertified teachers, hundreds of thousands of dollars in misspent state and federal grant money, and let's not forget overspending his budget by better than a million bucks over the course of three year and the special education money spent on football parades, advertising and teachers dinner at the Fox, it's hard to understand how he could turn a blind eye to the sheer incompetence at the school department, but there wasn't a word out of him on that situation.

and every time Smith opened his mouth about the school department, he was made out to be the bad guy. Why are they so afraid of FFF.

Well, Smith had the last laugh, in spite of what Freddie and Friends tried to do to him.

FFF has managed to create this aura about him that he has some sort of magical powers that can either make or break a candidate. Smith shattered that myth, which is a good thing for all of us.

Citizen Kane, I hope you are right and it continues. I don't think anyone actually likes FFF, they are afraid of his power, or the power he and they thinks he has. I really don't think the average Everettite has any respect or faith in Freddy.

That is exactly right. The guy can tell you off with all kinds of vulgar words under his breath with a smile on his face. He is not respected but feared.

He is just an arogant bully. He needs to be put in his place. We need a school committee with some guts to do their elected job, and then and only then, should they be paid.

We need a schoole committee that is not beholding to FFF.

Almost every member of the Committee has at least one family member on FFF's payroll.

He demands allegiance from each one of them or the job goes away.

Simple Everett politics.

I just heard from a Ragucci suporter that he was contacted by RVC, of course RVC didn't get a very warm welcome.

Politics make strange bedfellows, they say.

But.....

Believe me, Ragucci is closer to Joe McGonagle than RVC.

So, if Joe can pull in the Ragucci supporters along with his own, then Joe might have a decent shot against RVC. I think things will be heating up soon.

Joe, in my opinion definitely has the edge.

But he will have to scratch some political backs to gain a significant advantage.

Politics is dirty work.
