We can hope. When I ask him, he tells me that he is dedicated to being a good alderman. I hope that's code for "let's do it." |

That's exactly what he tells me, "I am going to be the best Alderman I can be" and I ask him every time I see him. |

I even offered to work on his campaign, again and I don't want a job. |

Well, Mr. McGonagle will have to make a decision soon. The last thing this city needs is another two years of Hanlon or a hand-off to his buddy on the Board. |

I think if Joe feels he can get the support and raise enough cash, he will go for it. All indications are pointing that way. You are right again, he should let it be known very soon. The elections are just around the corner again. |

As long as George Keverian isn't running, people will be waiting in the wings. I haven't heard anything about George as yet. |

The Pup and I feel that it will be McGonagle versus Van Campen.
Not sure if Hanlon will run again. I think his supporters would like him to run. John has no touch of reality and therefore no sense that he will be defeated. His supporters would still control as him as they do now.
I do think that Van Campen will be easily influenced by the Hanlon crowd, which in the long run will hurt him in his quest.
Hanlon would be just as happy weaving wicker baskets in Vermont as being mayor.
He wouldn't know the difference.

Ah Emile- but do you believe the "Pop goes the Weasel" articles - that the Hanlons are onto RVC? Or will they hold their nose and support him anyway? Don't forget his unique connection to our friend in the school department.
I can't imagine that there are enough people in Vermont for John to bore with his endless stories. My hair turned grey listening to him one fine afternoon. |

Yes Court, my sympathies on your affliction. My sources say you are a very handsome individual.
My hair all fell out after listening to his stories when he was City Clerk.
That is why I chose to become a man of the cloth. It just seemed fitting, you know, the robes, the bald head, religion, seeking salavation for human and dogkind, etc.

Emile, your sources are too kind.
I could make two assumptions about your decision to take to the Lord's service, Emile. Either Mayor Hanlon is divine inspiration or further proof of the seventh ring of hell. Either would turn a man to God. Since all dogs go to heaven, I can also assume that you're seeking salvation for the rest of us flawed mortals and not the Pup.

Sally,
When I check under my cassock, I usually find everything in place and in fine working order.
It's more comfortable going cammando, I must say.

Well Sally, a cassock is a piece of religious apparel, a long robe so to speak.
As I am always fair to ahem, all genders, I must say that women are allowed to minister in the Episcopalian faith.
If Michael would enable the avatars, I would gladly post a photo.
