My dear Scoop, we have known Mr. Matewsky for decades.
He will not change his ways. Maybe for a short time, but he's easy to coerce.
No willpower and he will do anything for a handout.

C'mon people . . . isn't this a little beneath us? I mean, I'm all for some good fun, and I enjoy observing the political foibles of our local electeds as much as the next guy, and I'm no fan of Wayne Matewsky's, but really -- if the guy is trying to get some help, why can't we just leave that part of his life out of the discussion? Anyone who has ever dealt with a family member with a substance abuse issue, or who has struggled with one themselves, knows that there's no overnight fix for it.

The problem is................we've got a new member here who's trying to stir up trouble. He's throwing the poop and waiting to see how much sticks.
What amazes me is that so many are buying into this bull! |

Well, Scoop, as far as I can see, the only "truth" you've thrown out here so far is old news; nepostism in the Hanlon administration is not news; your interpretation of the plans being concocted between Van Campen and Hanlon was printed in the Advocate on Friday -- also not news, and certainly not fact from what we know so far; people taking home Code Enforcement vehicles -- that was posted out here somewhere months ago; as for what has been posted under this heading -- while there may be truth to it, it's hardly a "scoop." |

Come on guys, lighten up. Scoop made for an interesting evening last night. It was fun. I agree we should leave Wayne's personal problems out of here. I hope evryone remembers that when the mud starts slinging during the campaign for the Mayors election. |

Massdee, like I said, I enjoy observing -- and commenting -- on the antics of the current administration and elected officials, as it relates to their political lives, but some stuff just isn't funny. |

The guy did something good. We here in the city of Everett were actually on the news for something positive. I know that we are not use to that. But lets just enjoy it without putting something negative attached to it. It was a rare moment let enjoy it well we can. What I mean to say is it was a tragedy for those poor families but, a heroic gesture by one of our own. |

Now I may not be his biggest fan, however, leave him alone - it's not right and it's not fair to judge people for their shortcomings - and if he is in a program - more power to him, after all people in glass houses... there is not one person at City Hall who can throw a stone folks, we all know that. What Wayne did in California with those children and putting himself in harms way speaks for itself. He may not be the shining star in Everett, but he is a person who tries hard to do what he thinks is right. I say we leave him and his personal life out of general discussions. |
