Oh Masterful One,

The tone of this blog over the past few days from these newcomers has been distressing the Pup.

Of course, we may always wait until the weather improves at the South Polar regions.

We will be here for a short while, my Friend. Your kind words of appreciation bring tears to our eyes. The Pup is truly a sensitive being and wishes to thank you for your friendship and kindness.

Emile, it would make me very sad to have you and the Pup leave. Disparities in the Antarctic? Disparities between . . . genetic make up of polar bears? Do they have polar bears in the Antarctic? If I could find Rosebud, I'd send her with you.

In any event, Emile . . . the message board is not the same when you're not here. We hope that the Pope will reconsider that your contributions are of great value to us.

Citizen,

More kind words from you as well! The Pup is overwhelmed.

The southern poles have penguins my friend, not polar bears.

The offer of Rosebud as a traveling companion may be accepted and will be put to good use.

The Pup wishes to hold off on our journey for a few weeks.

Ah . . . geography was never my strong suit. While I traveled a great deal when I was young, I could rarely point to the various locations on a map. As you know from my spotted youth, my travels simply aided in my use of money "to buy things."

I'm glad that the Pup wishes to stay put for a while longer.

Me too. The pup will have to practice using "happy feet" er Paws. LOL..

We will just have to pray for divine intervention for you to stay..You are right about the tone lately, it shows that some don't understand the golden rule.

Lynda, Fancy was simply replying to Scoop's rumor-spreading/speculating that Mr. Bowdridge was not a paid employee of the city but was volunteering his time. The fact, in that case, is that Mr. Bowdridge was, indeed, a paid employee.

Not to worry Fancy . . . I appreciate the intent of your message. I think what sometimes happens with us out here is emotions ride high depending on the level of personal connection any one of us feels with a given subject. The more suspicious we might feel about any one person's motives or the validity of the information posted here, the harsher we sometimes seem to come across. Just as an example -- and Lynda, I apologize in advance, because I don't mean this as an attack on you -- but Lynda is clearly a good friend of the former Rec Center Director and believes he's being unfairly accused and persecuted out on this message board. While many of us don't agree with her, I admire her willingness to stand by her friend and defend his name while the investigation is ongoing.

What's important to remember, I guess, is that we all feel strongly connected to our city and what happens here, and a lot of us feel that forums like this are the only way for our voices to be heard. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.

Hi Fancy,
I would just have to ask if you think I am a fool, also. I am a friend of Bill's and at one point, you said I was his wife. That is inaccurrate info. I read the same things in the papers about the rec commission also, but I do not have to believe that he is guilty of anything. Why have we not read anything else in regards to it? Could it be because there is nothing else? Could it be that this is a witch hunt and smoke screen by the Walking Eagle club to deflect what "HONEST JOHN" (ROFLMAO) is screwing up next? Like I said before, I believe that people that stand up for their friends are people with integrity. Lynda, I tip my hat to you. Fancy, I am not attacking you, so please don't feel that way.If you look back at some of the comments that you have made, you will understand.

Thank you, Fancy. I like the hammer and nail avatar, but then I thought it might signify also trying to hammer people with my opinion, which is not the image I want to portray.

Masterful1, all I know is that the police investigation is ongoing; however, allowing the Rec Center Director to resign really didn't deflect away from Hanlon. It seemed to have brought him even more criticism, at least in the short term. Do you feel that Hanlon threw Mr. Bowdridge under the bus to try to cover up any other manner of nonsense going on up at city hall?

That's too bad if that's the case, Lynda. Maybe he just wants to put it all behind him.

Oh yes,my friend. Just look at the tax break. Oh, wait a minute, we didn't get one because he wanted to level the playing field. Ragucci was going to put 2 million towards the tax break, but the aldermen said to let Hanlon do it. Guess what? Never happened, but he spent the money anyways.OH yeah, what happened to the hiring freeze? That went bye bye.

Well,,well hello to all if i may ,,I would like to for the record say that I am not Bill or Mr Bowdridge as some have felt and even stated.. Personally I've never met him yet i know who he is.. With that let me tell you the following,,,, "scoop".. My "sources" tell me that the Rec Director's job pays about 48k to 49k per year. This job was split with Mr Bowdridge and Ron Farnell ,, both to work 19 1/2 hours aweek. Bowdridge gets a yearly salary of something like $6,600per year so do the math,,, i'ts about $4.55 per hour,, but the best part,,, i'm told from insiders was,, he was working about 55 to 60 hours a week ,, That would put him at about $2.47 per hour so how bad was crying for a check,,hmmm, so when you re-read your postings you sometimes border on a "Personal" agenda?? i don't know and really don't care,, his vacation,,hmmmm,, again i'm told you get appointed in January and take a vacation in March how much time could he have accrued in just two months??? THIS REC COMMISION,, now that i asked agreat deal about.. They came aboard in January and could not hold an official meeting until sometime till hmmmm,,April or May then had June, July, August "OFF" WITHPAY so they have one or maybe two meetings ,,0OHHHHHHH,,, by the way they are to be published for the public to attend ASK ,, go ahead,, ASK HOW MANY WERE AND WITH 24 HOUR NOTICE,,, SO YOU HAVE IT JUST SOME OF MY "SCOOP" ,, I for one have been keeping an open mind and using MY COMMON SENSE,,, stay tuned

Now, what other breaking news has the Eagle's camp had? Gun problems at PITY Hall, part-timers on the payroll getting paid unreal sums for what work? How many got pay raises? What is a true budget? Is it one that you keep coming back and asking for more? I can't remember any other administration with so many problems in so short a time span as this one. Makes your head spin.

To Poop N Scoop, for someone that doesn't know Bill but knows of him, you know quite a bit. First, the jobs for Bill and Ron Farnell were split, but because neither of them could work full time due to social Security. They can only make so much per year. Next, Bill worked 60 hours per week, please give me a break. If that were true, he would have been mentioning that all along. He isn't allowed to work that many hours, so if he was there 55 to 60 hours, he was there on his own time, and not for the city, but for himself. Next, he did ask for his vacation pay. That is known at city hall. And the final next, how do you know so much regarding the rec commission? The meetings were published for the public to attend. They were on the board outside the city clerks office. So Bill or who ever you are, the truth will come out once detective Bonupane (I know that the spelling is wrong, sorry) completes his investigation. He has been to the Rec Center quite a bit, and has questioned many people and has read over all the invoices for the year. Sooner or later, everything comes full circle.
