Anyone know of parents who have had to press the school system for services? Have you had to threaten legal action? Have you lost at least a portion of your Childs school year fighting for what the school system was LEGALLY OBLIGATED to provide? We need folks to step up and work with us for what might be the straw on the humps back. We [The Special Education Parents Advisory Council] with Kathy Mccormack as the chairperson, are exploring a CLASS ACTION SUIT. Without parents input, we cannot proceed. She is listed with the federation for children with special needs and MASSPAC as the chair for our cities PAC, so believe me this is legit. We are not fishing for personal info, and Kath has offered to meet one-on-one, or get a facility for a larger forum to discuss our options. My first shot was the fliers, hers was the bumper stickers and now she has involved the DOE. Please, parents, even if you have started to get services, we need your involvement, to prove a trend of violating the rights of the most vulnerable citizens we have-the disabled children of Everett.
