Hi All,
Just a quick update from Officer Johnston and myself. Pat contacted the MEPA office on Wednesday February 7, 2007 to request information about Boston's previous ENF and NPC's. He was informed that he needed to contact Whit Davis of CDM (the project's consultant) for the information by Mr. Zavolas of MEPA. BWSC has stonewalled Pat on getting these documents and is still waiting. Once he receives them he will be writing a letter on behalf of our group and submitting it to MEPA. We ask that as many people as possible try to write their own letters. We will try to get specific talking points out as soon as possible, as well as a form letter that can be mailed around to help. We would love to get over 250 letters submitted to MEPA! I will be writing a letter and submitting the over 1700 signatures that we have all collected to MEPA as well. FYI...Because of Boston's stonewalling tactics, MEPA has extended the comment period for us from Feb. 26 to March 10th. Below is the place that you should send letters once they are fully prepared. Letters should be sent to Nicholas Zavolas, MEPA Analyst by March 10 by fax, e-mail or snail mail:
MEPA/EOEA 100 Cambridge St Boston, MA 02114 nicholas.zavolas@state.ma.us 617-626-1030 (p) 617-626-1181 (f) I want to thank eveyrone again for all of their good work. Please forward this on to friends and family, as well as any official group within our communities that may be willing to submit official letters on their letterhead. The more individually written and organization written letters submitted the better for our cause. Please remember though, MEPA is an environmental body so any letters submitted have to tie in our concerns for the health and well being of the citizens of Everett, Somerville and Charlestown. Thanks again. The work and progress that we have made so far is remarkable. Let's see someone on the street call this dump a done deal now!!! Chris (617) 892-2765
