Have ever noticed all people do is complain about who they voted in office? I have yet to see the mass's agree the man running the show was the right man for the job, How digusting is that?
For instance take a look at this bulliten board, after reading most of the post and skimming thru it it looks like most people here dont like John Hanlon. But the last BB was dedicated to bad mouthing David Ragucci. Can anybody in this city ever be happy, or is there something in your drinking water turns you into a women during her worst menstral cycle. I mean hey I realize I'm like the pot calling the kettle black here, I know this I have made my bbitch about a couple of people this has working for it (or at least they say ).
But that aside, what is really wrong with the Hanlon Admin, I think Hanlon is doing OK with what he was given.
Cant any of us just be happy (self included-so I dont want to hear any crap,I'am including myself).

| Joe here you make a good point but i disagree with you when you say Hanlon is doing ok with what he was given. I have been in private sector for over 30 years and you learn leaders are only as good as the people you surround yourself with. I personally like Hanlon and have known him for over 30 years but I do not think he surrounded himself with the right people in some cases,and this is why we are where we are at in this city today. |

I agree 100% Joe. Superman could be our Mayor and someone would have a problem with the color of his suit, some poor miserable soul would have something to say. You are correct it doesnt matter whos is office the people of this city will never be happy.

That is not the case for me. I just want an honest person who is just going to tell the truth and follow thru with it.

I agree I think thats the common denominator for everyone, however I still believe no matter who goes in the corner office Someone somewhere will bitch and complain and there bitching will bring along there whiny friends to complain louder. I think its the nature of the beast.

I beg to differ. There have been instances where mayors have taken office, surrounded themselves with smart, competent people, and actually ran their respective cities for decades. This requires a proactive mayor with his finger on the pulse of not only the city - the the economy of the state, as well. With those skills, and well-appointed department heads, this kind of mayor can stay in office until he/she decides to leave. The residents have confidence in their decision making, and the legislative bodies of those cities manage to work reasonably cooperatively with the corner office.
Unfortunately - this hasn't happened in Everett in a long, long, long time.
The point I'm making is that it's not the "nature of the beast" - but the "beast" in the corner office that sets the tone for his administration. Look no futher than right there for your answers.
Examples - try Medford and Peabody, for starters. |
