Has anyone seen the new work that is going on at the police station.

They are building some kind of anti terror so if the station ever gets hit they are protect. Grant money I am sure of that. Hope it's not tax payers dollars

I saw it too, some type or ornamental steel barriers. Probably to stop a car from driving through the front lobby. I would think it's homeland security money also.

My guess is that it probably keeps people from handicap access as well. Unless they open the side door to the public.

I smell another lawsuit in the making. And I think I recall Bonnell having to face the music over the ADA when the elevator was out for an extended period. Ca-ching!

I passed by this morning and looks like the spacing is wider on the sidewalks which should allow a wheelchair.

The money used to build those barriers to protect the front of the police station came from a homeland security grant through either the state or federal government.

then if its homeland great idea you just never know.. And to Fran don't know some of your wheelchairs are updated and motorized but, I guess we will have to wait and see. I too hope they fit through, now all the police station needs is one of those handicap button pushers that would really help our handicap
