Independent Newspaper Dude. I think it will be Joe and Carlo what makes you think that the old man is gonna make it through the primary. The coming primary There is no doubt that Mayor Hanlon and one other will win a place in the coming mayoral primary. That one other could be Alderman Carlo DeMaria or aldermens President Joe McGonagle. If we were Mayor Hanlon, we’d make the primary loser a chief aide to the mayor at a nice salary, as either DeMaria or McGonagle could do a good job of bringing the city together by playing an active role with Mayor Hanlon. Mayor Hanlon may not see it this way, but we do. It’s called divide and conquer.

I've been saying for a while that I thought it would come down to Joe and Carlo after the primary but lately I've been rethinking it. Hanlon has his core base and will probably keep many of them. Joe and Carlo have their own supporters, but will probably end up splitting the Hanlon detractors. I do not know if they both can pull enough votes in the primary to knock Hanlon out. The anti Hanlon vote will be split between the two of them. The way I am looking at the primary, it could end up being any combination of the three front runners. Now, the general election will be a different ball game. I believe, come November, there will be a new Mayor. |

The only problem is that if the Mayor gets knocked out and it is just Joe and Carlo, the Mayor will make things even worse than they are on his way out the door. I think that he is DEFINITELY a very revengeful person. He will make it so that whoever gets in will walk into more of a mess that has already been created. |

Well Home, it will probably happen eventually either way. If the mayor survives the primary, I think he will lose the general election. Either scenario gives him plenty of time to reek havoc. I just hope he is more of a person than that. |

A friend suggested to me that if the Eagle with walker gets shut out of the primary, you are going to see everyone's pay go backup..This way, whomever comes into that job next will start at a higher rate. |

Not necessarily. Masterful1. Our next mayor would put the grade back where it belongs before he fills a position. It would only be a problem if the grade was increased and the person was being kept on. |
