Hey was that what all the helicopters were for? I got scared and locked my doors. I thought there was a nut on the loose.

Manhole explosion startles neighbors
EVERETT, Mass. -- A fire in a manhole forced evacuations Friday.

Police say a loud booming sound came from a manhole on Norwood Street.

The street was closed and power was shut off while a nearby building was evacuated as a precaution.

Police say no one was injured. They think the fire was probably caused by an electrical flash.

I was in the sq when it took place getting a hair cut it was not a explosion just a lot of black smoke pouring out of the manhole...
F.Y.I It is the second time that manhole caught fire in the last few months!!!!

They call it an explosion because something has to blow for the fire to happen. Thank goodness there was not a worker in that manhole.
