Are you kidding me?
This is the FIRST week that McGonagle #1 had his kids in the paper along side of him never mind really ever spoke of these children. #2 First article that DID NOT bash DiMaria or anyone else at that. And then the TOPPER of it all... drum roll please... the Leader Herald is endorsing him? Is this because he spent soooooo much money with his every other page ads bashing the others over this election?????? Could that be it? Or is because the Leader Herald is such a proven wealth of news artcles keeping everyone in the city informed of the cities happenings?????? This is just comical if you ask me which you didn't but... PLEASE! I just can't wait until Tuesday night when all is said and done. I just hope that everyone looks at the full picture and NOT the pensions they are 2 years shy from. Carlo is young, energetic, smart, experienced over 10 years of Everett politics, and YES as everyone has noted here it does make a difference that he is JUST A GOOD KID! There are not many of them out there anymore.

I had to jump in on here and ask if anyone else noticed the misprint on the front page of the Leader Herald today? Top left hand corner: "Don't forget to vote" continues on to say: On Tuesday, November 2nd? Uh Hello, do they have proof readers there? Gee I wish he was endorsing my candidate for Mayor. Uh NOT!

Every paper in the city is all about money.

And I believe the top left corner of the front page editorial indicates that this is a reprint of an editorial that appeared in the paper in 1965 -- so no, they didn't have the date wrong.

Concerned Citizen

Most of those people you named do not want to come back to work for the city. They have moved on to better things.
Look I like Carlo a lot I want to vote for him but who wants Vetrano around screwing up our city. Plus he will keep all Hanlon people and
give Hanlon a position. You know the guy we just voted out!
I do not know where you get this 20 hour BS from most of those people worked more then the required 35 hour work weeks.
If you had anything to do with the city in the past you would know that. Good Luck to your guy with people who lie like you behind him I hope he goes real far.

Wanda......where did you get your information about keeping all Hanlon people and giving Hanlon a position. It is incorrect.

I happen to know Mr. Hanlon will not be back at City Hall when the new administration takes over in January. Many people in city hall that know they will not be returning, are also finding new positions. For anyone to say that anyone from this administration has been promised a job is a completely false statement.

Lynda, I think you missed the Editor's Note just before the article, "Don't Forget to Vote." That November 2nd date is correct.

I have been told by people that work up city hall that Carlo is
there every day on the third floor meeting with Hanlon, Vetrano,Pedulla,Don Andrew,Dom D'Angelo and others.
Plus we know Ron Farnell & The Sheehan Family have been
holding signs for him. I don't think John would throw his
suport over unless there is something in it for him.

Again if it were not for these things, me and my family would
be voting for Carlo, we think he is a fine young man.

Joe was being bashed for not having his young daughters involved in his campaign and now he is being bashed for having them. This week is NOT the first time we have seen Joe's daughters. Joe's girls were also on his ECTV video and on his website for a while now. I can't believe people will stoop so low and make pictures of Joe's beautiful girls a political issue. Shame on you.

I think it's interesting that both sides are accusing the other of hiring all these former and current employees...yet it's only wrong and expensive when the other guy is doing it. Just an observation.

I can tell you Carlo is hiring all new blood, mark my words. Why would he want to keep the same people around who made such a mess of things to begin with ?? He owes nothing to no one...

No one in politics "owes nothing to no one", although your use of double negatives would actually mean that Carlo owes everything to everyone. Be that as it may, at the very least, Carlo owes Thibeault a great deal. Without his backing and financial support, Carlo would've been hard pressed to run a strong city wide campaign. And I find it unfathomable that people would take the support that McGonagle is getting from the Ragucci people as a sign that they're all getting their old jobs back, but the support that Carlo is getting from the Hanlon people, and from Hanlon himself, comes with no strings attached. It's simply not logical.

You are right Kane, no one in politics "owes nothing to no one", Carlo owes alot to the voters of city, that's who he is responsible. He's not responsible to Thibeault, he can try and work with Thibeault and if it benefits the residents and the city and everyone's in favor - then great !! But he OWES Thibeault nothing but an opportunity to present any plans that he has for the parcels of land - and that's it.

And how can you be so blind- those former Ragucci people have been with Joe from day one for one reason and one reason only - for a job, and to fulfill their last 2 years so they can get their pension. You are wearing rose colored glasses when it comes to Joe, I feel sorry for you.

As far as Hanlon goes, John is going to throw his support somewhere and it certainly wasn't going to Joe considering how disrespectful he had been to him throughout this campaign. Whether or not John truly believes in Carlo or just dislikes Joe that much we won't know, but we welcome his support. Anything else Kane ???

AVGMON . . . I don't think you've ever seen any comments on here from me about McGonagle that would lead you to believe I wear rose colored glasses when it comes to him or anyone else. Since you're relatively new to the board, we'll just let that one pass.

As far as Hanlon goes . . . he didn't have to throw his support anywhere. He could've gracefully bowed out of the whole thing when he lost the primary. He chose not to do so; his people chose not to do so; to think that these people are helping Carlo out of the goodness of their hearts makes you the one wearing rose colored glasses, I'm afraid.

Kane, I may be relatively new to this board but not to this city,so I have a great understanding of who's who and what goes on here. Joe's campaign is quite transparent, but at this point in the game it is really irrelevant, for me anyway, I have become quite tired of this garbage and that's why I took a break from this board.

What Carlo decides to do when he gets elected will be up to him, I'm sure he'll make the best decisions because he will want to get re-elected. Oh, and Kane my eyes are wide open and my candidate is by far the best choice. Especially after Mr. McGonagle's episode last night at the Derby Bar Room on Ferry St.

If you were so interested in showing your own candidate in a positive light, AVGMOM, you should've ended with "my candidate is by far the best choice." Your last sentence says a lot about you.
