I understand the concept of the parking on one side of the street but it is next to impossible. My husband drove around for 45 minutes before he found a spot last night. The parking here is horrible on a clear day nevermind when you can only park on one side. We do not have a driveway. But I love my lovely neighbors who can fit 6 cars in their driveways and still park all of them on the street. Real considerate people.

By the way did anyone else wake up their shocked kids thins morning to tell them there was school? My kids we not happy, they thought it was going to be a snow day. I told them get ready and go. We are very close to the high school, I may have let them stay home if we were across town.

I wish they would start tagging and towing on the secondary streets. People who park on the wrong side during a snow emergency make it next to impossible to get more than a plow blade width down the middle of the street. We all get mad at the way the city plows but I think the people are to blame. They never park where they should. They really need to tag and tow every street. That will certainly put some money into the cities coffers. If they do it consistently, like the overnight parking, people would start doing the right thing.

I think you are correct that they should enforce. Unfortunately by listening to the scanner they spend mopst of the time ticketing and towing on Broadway and Main Street. I live on a street with one sided parking and the plows still do not come down like they should.

I also live on a parking on one side only street only mine is a HILL.
A little plow was here and cleared a "path" on the hill. Now another little plow came down and made a "path" on the hill. Both are on the side that cars park on. Consequently my side of the street is still covered with snow. I would have to shovel 10 feet to reach the street. Now the kicker! There were two plows and a truck to carry the snow away at the new high school. Go figure.

It's all about the visibility.

Tinker, if you lived at the New High School, your streets would be perfect because the school department cleaned them.

But unfortunately, you are just a taxpayer, and the lame duck city services cleans the rest of the city. with their usual lack of efficientcy.

Write a letter to Freddie.........maybe he will put in a good word with Hanlon, eer, Carlo, eer, whomever will be running this city.

Maybe it's just Freddie.

I'm sure the emails went out to his teachers to support the golden donut boy during the election when it was clear to all that Hanlon was a lame duck.

Funny there has been no discussion about Freddie's involvement in the election.

They really need to get the sanders out! The side streets are treacherous............ all ice. The main streets seem okay but they aren't curb to curb.

There's no excuse. They had plenty of time and traffic yesterday was minimal..........

I realize they wouldn't salt and sand while it was raining but as soon as that stopped these secondary roads should have been salted and sanded. My street only has a slight incline and the cars are having trouble making it up to the top. I hope the next administration does a much better job.

One of my beef's is, and I have said it before, why do the legally parked cars get plowed in? Is there a reason for which way they aim the plow blade? If there is then I wouldn't get so pi$$ed. I wouldn't like it but I would understand. I lost count on how many times we had to dig our vehicles out yesterday, while the cars on the even side of the street were clear. It just doesn't seem right. It's like everything else in this city, you do what's right and you get penalized.

My beef is that the City did nothing to clean up bewteen storms. I realize the Nor'easter with the change from snow to rain is hard to combat. Yet, there was plenty of time to do some clean up so peolpe had somewhere to put the new snow. Agin, no vision or ability to be proactive.

I do live quite near the high school that is how I knew there were two plows and a dump truck there. This morning my street was still not clear and the parents dropping off their children slid down the hill. After the massive traffic jam the city did plow our street and wonder of wonders sanded it also.

It would be nice if they sent the sanders out before the accidents and problems!

I live on a hill near the high school too and my street is a mess. I travel around neighboring cities for work and none of them are any better. I guess the rain washed away the salt and sand. I really want to move to a warmer climate, I cannot take many more winters.

I do not live near the new HS but my street isn't in any better condition than the other streets. We have yet to see any sand or salt.
