STARTS ON TUESDAY APRIL 1, 2008, I BELIEVE THERE WILL BE TOWING ALLOWED THIS YEAR, AFTER WATCHING THE MEETING LAST NIGHT AND SEEING OUR ELECT OFFICIALS WHO WERE AGAINST IT I SAW DON'T CLEAN THEIR STREETS BUT I WANT MY STREET CLEAN ESPICALLY WEBSTER STREET THAT STREET IS A DISGRACED.
IT'S ABOUT TIME WE ARE DUE TO HAVE A CLEANER CITY
AND IF THE SWEEPERS ARE BROKEN THE MAYOR STATED THAT HE WOULD SENT OUT HAND CREWS TO CLEAN THE STREETS, IT'S ABOUT TIME.

The problem we have in my neighborhood is when the street does not get swept because of parked cars, the drainage ditch clutters up and water builds up on the street. From what I have seen, the police are good about announcing on the loud speaker “street sweeping” but the sweepers have to go around the illegal parked cars. I hope they do start to tow because the majority of people would like to live in a clean community.
Off topic but boy code enforcement was out last night. I saw so many cars with tickets that had the old residential parking stickers. I think a lot of people got the message.

13 March 2008
Street Sweeping Begins April 1st
Beginning Tuesday April 1st the City of Everett will begin it's street sweeping program.
All vehicles that are parked in violation of the street sweeping ordinance will be tagged and will be towed.
Starting on Monday March 17th the Everett Police will be placing flyers on vehicles
reminding residents of the street sweeping ... (see flyer sample)

I have two different Everett numbers ( home and business) and I NEVER receive reverse 911 calls!
Why is this ? |

| If you are unlisted you won't as I am unlisted but, if you ever called the police for whatever the reason your number comes up and your put in the data base to rec'd the 911 calls,i.e. if you call the main no. and not 911 your number does not come up on the 387 1212 only on 911 |

I had a missed call on the caller ID from the City Of Everett. I assume it was the reverse 911. The weird thing is there was no message on my answering service.

Well, I have called 911 many times over the past 5 years . And both numbers are listed ?
Cant imagine I am the only one in Everett who doesnt receive these calls!! |

| My phone does not "usually" accept private calls but some do come through and last night (maybe 6:30) and unidentified call was on my phone. I didn't pick it up and I did not have a message. I wonder now if it was the reverse 911? It should have left a message.. |

I have called 911 and my number is listed. And yes, you would think it would leave a message. I did not pick up because for a second I thought it was another annoying recorded call from the high school. Then I realized that would have said Everett Public Schools. How many times do I need to know my child was absent or late? They call everyday at 6:30 and 7:30 am. And several times at night.

I guess alot of people are not in the reverse 911 system if on everett police website they are having a sign up for "reverse 911 system--coming soon link"

| Wow the towing is in full force and effect this morning on the main roads for street sweeping, now maybe our city will start looking cleaner. |

| I hope so. Lets see in July if they are still out there in full force. I really do hope so because the side streets are not getting the attention like the main roads are this morning but I know they cant be everywhere at once. Maybe next go around they can concentrate on the side streets and rotate. |

| I noticed that the past two weeks the street sweeping in my area has been done by GTA. I thought the city did it's own street cleaning. Are we now contracting it out or are the city sweepers not running? |

| If memory serves, Brian Zaniboni did say one of the sweepers was not working. My question is did GTA bid for this and are they suppose to? |
