Everett football player recovering from emergency surgery
Enlarge this imageEVERETT, Mass. -- A freshman football player at Everett High School is recovering from emergency brain surgery.

Freshman Hantzley Audate, 14, collapsed Wednesday after practice.

Audate was then rushed into surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Surgeons operated on Audate for two hours for a blood clot in his brain.

Doctors said the surgery went well.

Team coaches said Audate had no prior health issues, and the team wasn't doing anything physical when he collapsed.

The log for the 911 call says that a kid had been hit and was unresponsive. Of course the operator could have misunderstood. I think blood clotts can happen at any age. It would be a stroke I believe. And even babies have strokes.
