It is time to put an end to Wood Waste. I am personally tired of smelling rotten eggs when I go grocery shopping. I am tired of smelling it on the other side of the city just because of the direction the wind is blowing in. I am Extremely tired of inhaling highly toxic chemicals that can make our whole community sick... I am tired of it all. In the past couple of months we have seen our mayor do nothing about this issue...so its time to take it into our own hands. I am starting up an activist group so together we can put an end to this. I do not want this issue to get out of hand to the point where no one does anything and people end up dying. We NEED to do something NOW. I believe if we ban together anything is possible. I have created a small forum community dedicated to just this 1 issue. I hope everyone will join in. Furthering what I posted above. If you have a myspace or facebook .. i have started causes there to in hopes to gain more support. Here is what our "opening statement" is.
Welcome to the cause! Thank you for joining. Our city is being taken over by Wood Waste, a company that has a dumping site in Everett. The piles of sludge and waste are higher then the legal limit and piles are being added all the time. When you go grocery shopping or to play paint ball all you smell is rotten eggs. That smell is coming from a highly toxic chemical that is in the piles called H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide). According to wikipedia "considered a broad-spectrum poison, meaning that it can poison several different systems in the body, although the nervous system is most affected. The toxicity of H2S is comparable with that of hydrogen cyanide. Reference: You must be logged in to see this link. " People in our city are getting sick and developing illnesses. Some people are even moving. Our mayor will not do anything about this issue so its time we start taking into our own hands. I believe there is power in numbers. The more people we have on our side the stronger our cause will be. If we can put an end to this now, the company will not be able to expand from 1 site to having 2-3 dumping sites. More importantly... members of our Everett community will not die of death due to pollution related illnesses.
