Sure is. Below is from today's Globe; it was in least in one of the Everett papers as well this week. NEW LEADER AT REC DEPARTMENT - Mayor Carlo DeMaria Jr. recently named Sam Amado as the city’s new recreation director. The position was recently funded after being vacant for several years. A lifelong resident of the city and a 2003 graduate of Everett High School, Amado until recently worked for the Joint Committee for Children’s Health Care in Everett. In that role, he introduced an “adult boot camp’’ fitness program this summer. “Sam brings a high level of energy and ideas to the department,’’ DeMaria said in a statement announcing the appointment. “I’m glad he’s on board and I know he’ll bring our great programs to an entirely new level.’’ Beginning next week, the Recreation Department will be conducting signups for new programs, including salsa, hip-hop dance, women’s self defense, and boxing. - John Laidler

I thought every hired person has to be brought to the board of alderman to be introduced to the public and viewing audience, what ever happen to that? |
