There was a multiple stabbing in front of Papa Jacks on Ferry Street tonight. A car pulled up and several people got out and stabbed three kids walking by. One kid tried to grab onto his assailant and was dragged by a car until he fell off in front of Superstar Video. Guess what, it did not even make the news. I guess rose colored glasses are the style here in Everett.

Jane - "only in Everett?" Are you kidding? The stabbing or the fact that it wasn't on the news? It's not the Chief's job to make Channel 4,5 and 7 cover our local stabbing. Do you really think that Tom Mennino calls the TV stations to cover their crimes? Come on. It's up to the newspapers to print the arrest/incident log, and to cover these kinds of stories. It was too late for the Independent and the Leader to cover it. Perhaps the Advocate will on Friday, with the rest following next week. And it they don't - shame on them all. Only in Everett can real news (like the decline of our schools and rising crime) be ignored in favor of advertising.

I have spoken to several people today who witnessed this crime, guess what they all are taking their families and leaving Everett. I know one of the victims and he is a good kid from a good family and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. My own child walked into Papa Jacks just minutes after the ambulance had taken the victims away. It could have been my kid. I have already cancelled my summer vacation and will be contacting a real estate agent ASAP I am out of this crime ridden ghetto of a city. My kids are in tears in school because they are afraid something is going ot happen to them. They will not be leaving my sight until we are oput of this city. Adios Everett!!!

Sally, what happened? Was this just a random thing or was it a revenge type thing? Did they catch the perps?

It sounds like a case of mistaken identity. The victim that I am familiar with is a really good kid. Never in trouble and that is thanks to his parents who do not let any of their kids get away with anything. He is a very popular kid at the high school and has never been a behavior problem. Just at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was walking with a friend when they were attacked by six or seven teens. When the assailants hopped into a car one of the victims went after them and was grabbed in a headlock through the window and dragged with the car. He fell off near Superstar Video. This was after he was apparently stabbed at least 5 times in his back.

Sally,

How is this young man? I do hope that he will be all right. Did they catch the people who did this to him?

This is a wake up call for all of us.

He is going to be fine. The other victim may lose his thumb. It was almost cut off completely and now it is infected from what I hear. They did not catch anyone.

I didn't see anything about the stabbing in the Advocate. Just pages and pages of Freddy propaganda about how the city should give him more money. Why don't these people print the news instead of Fred's public relations? When the hell is this guy going to trial?

Good question Court...

Can someone give the Herald or Globe a call?... or maybe tv news (where's lisa been?)

Just ask a few simple questions..."When the hell is this guy going to trial?" "Has he put the fix in?" "Is someone corrupt in the DA's office?"

That will get a reaction

Oh, that will most assuredly get a reaction...but it's the AG's office that is trying this case. The Inspector General's office has put on their website that Fred's going to trial in the spring. It can't happen soon enough. It's been more than two years since this guy has been indicted. This city needs justice. We also need ed reform - reform, to prevent the abuses that have taken place over the years from ever happening again.

Has anyone heard about an incident near the skating rink? A young kid told me there was a shooting?? I heard the windows in the rink were broken. I think we would of heard that on the news but who knows.

Domino's drivers have been getting robbed and beaten over the last two weeks as well (3 all together, one with a knife). They can't ring doorbells anymore because they can't be sure if its not a trap. I put more about this on my blog but this is ridiculous.. What a week!

Hi H1 how are you? the stabbing i believe was on the news but on fox 25 not the local stations and it was in the paper the globe the next day in the city and region a little article everett loves to burry things. I am back and wondering what is going to happen to our fair city.. as I was reading the blog I see that city hall in front and in the back are concerns for the people out here, my suggestion to you is to call the mayor or better yet the city clerk since he smokes and see what a mess it is out there. I have to agree with some of the postings IT'S FILTHY

From what I understand...you may call the mayor, but you don't get to speak to him directly. You have to know the answer to a secret riddle once you get to the first desk, where the Sphinx sits and answers the phone. If that's successful, you get to speak with Colleen. Please, refer to hizzoner as "His Honor, the Mayor." Even if you knew him as plain old John before - it's "His Honor, now." I also understand that an new edict has been established. Women may now wear sandals at city hall, as long as they wear nylons or pantyhose. I am so glad they have this important business thoroughly reviewed.

I can't wait to see if city hall just hands over the money that Fred was demanding in this week's Advocate.

Important business?

You're damn right it is...there is nothing more important than running a city, right?

If a department head needs to speak with "Hizzoner" immediately, it will take about three to four weeks for an appointment. And that's for an emergency....

Only if you get past the Sphincter at the first desk..Hmmmmm, did I spell that word correctly?

The Pup says it is....Ah well....
