I've got to watch that part of the meeting again. I wasn't paying all that much attention since it had dissolved into a political situation. All I really know though is that I can't take 10+ months of that kind of that kind of stuff.
So the mayor announces that he is going to start attending BOA meetings and then disappears in the middle of it. What's up with that?

It was pathetic.
The mayor wants the gang piece in “executive session” (why hide it from people?) but then rambles on and on about MS-13, Honduras and El Salvadorian gangs. That was so dumb.
I know a couple of police officers and one I’m close with one that is still on the force. Millie Cardello was absolutely right, and telling the truth. There are only 2 officers in the gang unit. I’m sick of being lied to and the mayor is in total denial. HE is the one that is PLAYING POLITICS on the matter and HE is the one that’s going to get an innocent person killed with his denial.
Just know this, gangs love it when a community is in denial.
This gives them more opportunity to develop its power base by recruiting more of our local youths, which frequently gives the gang a means to expand its territory and its criminal activity.
This city lacks the training and experience to recognize their own gang infestation.
Gangs have a foothold in Everett and as ugly as that may be it is reality. Denial to me suggests the mayor has not learned the appropriate behavior to cope with it and is now willing to have the Chief come in with his misleading statistics. They all ought to be ashamed.
The only thing that I would have questioned on the piece was - why it was sent to the Board of Alderman FROM the Common Council? Why waste the time....just send right to committee. That's the only thing that did not make sense to me.
The Mayor will bring the same Chief that was voted NO CONFIDENCE last month? All the Mayor cares about is trash and casinos.
I see public participation getting out of control and they need rules. The Presidents of each board need to start getting a better understanding also. You dont ask for the mayor unless a member request him. The Mayor had no right to take over the meeting like that concerning gangs. |

The mayor will probably attend more BOA meetings due to Millie and RVC being on that Board. No way does he want them to get more face time than him. Just saying. |

Let him attend. The people that bother to watch will see what is is really like. He treats women with no respect, not just on the city council, but in general. We have seen this same behavior with Councilor Miller. He storms up uninvited and does not let the sponsors speak. The presidents don't handle it correctly and the newspapers say the sponsors are rude to the mayor. More people need to know how he behaves. |

He was rude to some people last night.
If you attending the meeting last night you would have seen that the Mayor was not objective to everyone's thoughts and ideas. People that spoke in favor of the casino were allowed to speak as long as they wanted, with the panel clapping for all of them. People opposed were cut off in 1 1/2 minutes with no clapping from the panel, that consisted of the Mayor, The Attorney Rodrigues and Jaime Erikkson. Why wasn't the City Solicitor sitting at the panel? She was there. I heard the Mayor cut off a couple of people that were opposed. One person that was speaking, he said her information was misleading, and another was cut off after she asked if the casino would be open 24 hours and would people be driving drunk and made a good point about our car insurance premiums going up. The Mayor cut her off and asked what does she want, a warehouse. The whole thing was a farce with the Mayors people put in place to speak in favor. I also know some people that did not get the robocall, which makes me wonder. Sometimes silence is golden and not sure why everything was taken so personal. |

Why am I not surprised. Why bother when you already know the outcome. I have better things to do with my evenings than listen to a bunch of rude liars. |
