louie, I really hope you are wrong. (no offense)

If Hanlon does the right thing, he will keep Steve.

But, then again, we don't know who's making Hanlon's decisions for him.

I may be out of the loop here, which Flammia are we talking about here? I thought there was only one, Tony, but someone said no, his father or grandfather is EPD also? Which one are, or were, they looking at for chief?

Word is a few days before the meeting Mazzie thought that he had the votes to get the extension, but the way they went about it is the issue, he campaigned for it and contacted all the Alderman himself, but it was more a hypethetical where he said that if my name came up for a new deal would you vote for me, but they all said to him that if it came up in January it would pretty much be unanimous that he would get 3 more years so he went to David and asked him to put it on the calendar for last week's meeting, and none of the members of the board were expecting it before the inauguration and they werent happy with the tactics that were used by Mazzie, so it was a major miscalculation on the Chief's part. He was counting on filling the hall and more or less intimidating them into giving him a new deal.

Interesting....

I guess everything will be resolved soon.

I hope Mr. Hanlon makes a good decision o n a replacement, because I think he's making a mistake not keeping Steve. Even if he offered Steve a one year contract, just to see how he would mesh with John's agenda.

Justhefcts - you must be a member of the Board of Aldermen, or a close friend or relative. No one else is interested in providing "cover" for those clowns. That vote was pure politics and everyone knows it, so trying to make everyone think that the Mazzie committed some "offense" to the delicate feelings of the BOA by using "tactics" is just ridiculous.

Jason - it is the vote on the tax break that we won't forget either.

Yes, Jason,

If you ask me again if I "like you".

You will not like the answer.

Actually, I am stunned that you have lasted this long. Must be all the idiots that vote for you over and over again.

This time you're finished.

The Chief can certainly choose to stay on as Captain. Marchese and Hanlon cannot take that away from him.
