Just saw the North Weekly in the Sunday Globe. With the exception of two people, Hanlon's transition team looks like a re-run of a very bad John McCarthy movie.

I hate to say I told you so, but I did.

Welcome to the Dark Ages.

Be very afraid of the presence of Don Andrew on this team. This man is just bad news on many levels. He skirted and circumvented all manner of procedure when he was City Auditor, and he's been holding Foresteire's coattails since he left City Hall. He's not to be trusted, and I'm very disappointed that Mr. Hanlon, who has touted his honesty and integrity at every turn, would associate himself with someone like Don Andrew.

This does not bode well for the city.

de we ever hire anyone who hasn't been recycled through 3 other administrations? this is pathetic. in the professional world, most GREAT managers would look outside an organization for a new set of eyes, new blood, NEW PERSPECTIVE. This is sad.

Great managers can make twice the money in the private sector . . . unless, of course, you work for the School Department. But the "bottom line" is that government jobs don't pay all that well when compared to the private sector. As much as we may think that the salary for the City Auditor, for instance, may be too high, the fact is that someone in that position doing the same kind of work in the private sector could pull in almost twice that amount of money. Of course, they'd also have to put in twice as many hours.

This is the same Don Andrew that tacked the school department's overspending onto the tax levy and failed to notify city government? Great transition team, John. Stacking the deck against the taxpayer with Freddy's boys. Excellent choice.

Same Don Andrew.

John Hanlon is NOT in control here.

Mark my words, you will see Johnny Mac at City Hall.

I have already heard of some rather nefarious deeds being done by a unofficial member of the Hanlon transition team.

When I confirm these things, I will post what I know to be true.

I would say the most interesting name in the GlobeNorth story today was the fact that John Ragucci is on the Hanlon transition team, is this the same Ald. John Ragucci who only a few weeks ago endorsed his "cousin" David in a big front page spread in the Everett Advocate, the same John Ragucci who said he was not running for re-election because he was going in a different "direction". Now maybe he is there to cover the legislative end of the transition and will be on his way to do whatever he had planned when he gave up his Ward 4 seat. This one will be interesting to watch.

I know both parties very well. I am stunned by this interesting change of events.

John Ragucci? The same guy that was hugging David Ragucci a couple of months ago?

Unbelievable!!!!!!

I will be watching very carefully as well.

I am totally stunned with this news about John Raggucci..and very saddened,too..This is a man I thought that had alot of class and integrity. So, this Don guy, is he going to be doubledipping at the trough? First, consulting for the school dept., then helping the Hall? How much is this guy going to rape the City for?

John Ragucci clearly subscribes to the saying:" If you can't be with the one you love.....love the one you're with!"

masterful . . . that sounds like an excellent question for our Mayor-elect, but I imagine he'll be as silent on that subject as he was on the subject of our indicted superintendent.

Don't forget . . . David Ravanesi also collects a pension from the City. Any double dipping going on there?

Thanks Lizbeth,

I just find it funny how Hanlon is going to hire these people. Wasn't one of his points to put a "freeze" on hiring? Oh well, I guess that wasn't what Fred had planned, or was It Johnnie Mac? Dowd? Wallace? Andrews? Beuller? Bueller? Anyone?

I don't think Hanlon will be hiring anyone anytime soon he has to go through an audit first before he can let people go, it only makes sense.

It's unlikely that Hanlon would wait for an audit to be completed since there's no guarantee that the State is going to agree to do an audit. He's not going to put his administration on hold waiting for a State Audit to be completed.

But we'll see . . .

Heads will roll on or about Jan 2 or 3. If all department heads are not gone by then, they will be in a few months.
