Passing on info you all may know or not, and may find useful. I have been told by some friends to tone it down a bit so I am only forwarding the info as it was provided to me.
A former ECTV employee that had been terminated for theft of hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars of office supplies is now back in some capacity in the ECTV department. (There are emails and memo's from personal dating to the time of the alleged thefts supporting this).
Dom De'Angelo has a wrongful termination suit pending against the city of Everett (Ragucci administration). Ethically speaking, while this suit is pending he should not set foot in city hall. According to the state ethics board, the suit needs to be settled or dropped before he would be eligible to become an employee. This has not happened.
Mike Marchese, according to the state ethics commission would not be eligible for employment for 30 days from the time he was no longer an alderman.
There were rumblings that personal matters between a staff appointment and the spouse of another city employee caused the appointment to be void. That has since been revisited.
Please call your alderman. There is a possibility that an alderman will have on the calendar the request that Lona DeFeo be removed from her position as a result of being a convicted felon. While this alderman may change his mind, if everyone who supports this were to contact their elected officials and request that they support such a measure, it might gain steam. This applies to the upcoming meeting this Monday.
Wicked - don't listen to your friends. We like you just the way you are. Throw caution to the wind....what have you got to lose? Anyway - what a great post! You must have your ear to the door at city hall!
Kudos to all for being so active in discussing the disgraceful inaction on the DeFeo front my the Everett administration or school committee. I have to beleive that users of this bulletin board in no small way played a role in getting that story into the Herald. Lets hope the WBZ angle kicks in a 10PM news spot. Keep contacting the aldermen! They have to figure out at some point that bad press is eventually going to come back to them next election and they may then actually put some pressure on the school committee.
I am an average resident of Everett who would like to see more communication about anything and everything to do with Everett
I agree even with the small number of people we have here we may have made a difference. Imagine if eveyone in this city spoke up! I am calling every alderman and city councilor on Monday morning. Let's let them know what we want done with our tax dollars. The school committee members should be contacted too. Not that any of them will listen to the voters who elected them. Well except for Guiliano. I had to laugh when he spoke up about the two seats! Good forhim for not being intimidated. Fred must have wanted to pounce on him. And Alconada trying to talk him out of fighting the decision, what a geek!
Alconada's wife is one of the school teachers that had, ahem, certification issues. That's the price of Mr. Alconada.
Yes - please call every elected official - don't leave Hanlon out of it. His unwillingness to even call the reporter back isn't exactly leadership. He needs to know that people are disgusted.
