15. C0127-11Resolution/s/CouncilorRosemaryMiller
In the interest of public safety, to have the City Solicitor, Mayor's Chief of Staff, the 911 Director, City Engineer and representatives from the Police and Fire Departments appear to answer questions regarding safety issues and why it has been so slow and difficult to find the correct procedure to delete/change the name of a private way (Blake Terrace and Gladstone Terrace).

It was obvious that Councilor Miller had done a lot of work and research on this piece. One would think that Rodrigues would have let her know he had spoken to the new home owner and had resolved the issue. Instead he grandstanded and blindsided Miller. IMHO, it was very unprofessional on Rodrigues's part. Anyone know who purchased the former Power's home?

POSTING FACEBOOK PICTURES WHEN SUPPOSED TO BE AT MGH!! NOT SMART AND CC PEOPLE LOVIN THE PICS NOT A HOW YA FEELIN

Why am I not surprised. Now, getting the common council president involved the lies just shows the administration could care less about him.

Put Sergio in the line of fire...who cares ....but I'll go post on facebook because who cares if anyone thinks Sergio is a liar. I thought he would have more pride than that.

Carlo's uncle bought the home.

I think the much bigger issue here is Dave Rodrigues. He has proven to be nothing but a mouth piece for his wife. He was disrespectful. The administration has done nothing but delay delay delay the Blake Gladstone Terrace issue where 2 people lost their lives in a fire that could have been prevented. It was the city solicitor who said no changes could be done because it was a private way. I remember her saying you had to have a public hearing on it. So now....after all the work has been done on it.....Carlo's uncle buys the house and who but Rodrigues stands up there and totally disrespects the councilor who has been fighting this issue for years and calls it a waste of time??? The waste of time came from the city solicitor and the administration! Rodrigues tried to make Miller look foolish and it was totally intentional. That is NOT the place for games, especially when 2 PEOPLE LOST THIER LIVES! I just burned the meeting to a DVD and let ethics decide if he should remove his name from the ballot.

Yup, that’s exactly what I mean. It’s another horrible tragedy being manipulated politically. Do you realize how gross that is?

It makes last nights meeting a little clearer. Rodrigues was able to get something done that Miller was not, probably due to the fact his wife works in the mayor's office.

It was all planned that way, but the issue is it was that same administration where his wife works.....that were the ones that procrastinated the issue on the private way for years! THEY told Rosemary Miller it could not be done. She was told by THEM that a public hearing was necessary, etc. SHE did the work on it..... and all the administration did was procrastinate until the perfect time to get Rodigues involved..... to make Miller look like a fool. I think it backfired on them, because they look like fools and Rodrigues is an unethical person. He showed nothing but disrespect last night and it's not long until people's true colors come out.

They all knew Carlo's uncle was buying the property and supported the changes. These people make me sick.

I hadnt seen last nights meeting but from what Ive read Id have to agree and say Rodriguez has some nerve. He never contacted the sponsor or had discussion with her before the meeting? Did he wait for TV time to let people know he used his pull in the mayors office? Phone numbers and emails are all on the everett’s website contact info. Zero excuse not to contact the sponsor.

Does it matter whether or not if he spoke with her since the COS and City Solicitor had already told Miller that it could not be done that way. Miller was obviously trying to do things the proper way as she had been told it had to be done. And yes, Carlo's uncle has purchased that house. Funny that the private way never got paved until his uncle owned property on it. That is an obvious violation in my eyes. That should be checked.

It's my understanding as of last night, it is still a private way. Does the city usually pave private ways? Maybe Councilor Miller should look into that aspect of things.

I really do think it matters that Rodrigues didn't inform Miller before the meeting. It was disrespectful and unprofessional. What makes matters even worse, Rodrigues's wife, Melissa Murphy, the mayor's COS, was one of the people to advise Miller of the correct route to take. This screams CONFLICT OF INTEREST to me! Let's see who the players are in this: the mayor's uncle, the mayor's COS, the City Solicitor and the COS's husband Rodrigues. It's not hard to connect those dots.

Councilor Rodriques actions on the the piece certainly proved the point that Councilor Miller made earlier in the meeting that they don't work together.

What concerns me is I'm hearing from a lot of people that they are in favor of charter changes due to the fact the common council just cant work together.

You can clearly see the members on the common council that are the mayor has stacked in his favor, whether he is right or wrong, these puppets will NEVER go against him, even if it's wrong for the taxpayers.

If this charter passes, the mayor can potentially have complete control of the entire city government and that is a very bad thing, with no checks and balances. I'm trying to explain that to people, but after this past Monday night, people are disgusted with the entire bunch of them and want them out.

I also want to say there have been many MANY times, when councilors have "quoted" what other people have said, and never was a circus that it was made out to be this time. If Sergio Cornelio wants to quote “election year politics” he should look in the mirror. If anyone was out of line, it was Dave Rodrigues and it should have been directed to HIM. Thank goodness we have the Alderman.

Why do we have items 7 and 17 on the agenda separately? That was dumb.

I see the mayors pets are going to bring up Stacey one way or another on item 17, to politicize a 9/11 memorial. They all make me sick.
