Okay . . . anyone heard anything about this? It's on the calendar for Monday night.
29. C0082-07 Resolution/s/Councilor Leo McKinnon Mayor consider appearing this meeting to explain the recent letter that was mailed out to city council members with regards to the forensic audit.

What now has he come up with to slow this down even more? Let's see the President of the United States wants to review it (just for typo's) first? |

Are we sure that the Mayor has returned from the latest trip abroad? |

I missed most of the meeting I forgot it was on to be honest. God Bless Rosa though, when I did remember and turn it on it was around 9:30ish and she was questioning the Mayor on who has the audit and if he had anything from the Attorney General, and the rest of the State people, who wanted to review it, in writing stating the fact that they wanted time to review it. Boy was the Mayor pissed. Oh and by the way... he didn't. |

What's with that anonymous letter Councilman McKinnon had read. I would not normally give that type of thing any credence but the Mayor said the writer had the investigators name correct and the other name, it made me wonder what else could be correct. A family member of city hall used information from the audit to get his jail time reduced, and that is how the AG's office got involved? |

School Committee is going to start being paid Jan 2008. Unanimous vote. All the other pay hikes that were listed on the agenda were also passed with only hicks voting against it.
Masterful1, if you get a chance you nedd to watch the tape.
They voted again to do away with the $15.00 white goods fee.
A very long meeting and at times a little heated.
Lynda, you are right, the Mayor seemed like he was pissed that Rosa even asked that question. |

Massdee, I'm watching the meeting now, and I have a feeling it's going to be a while before they get to the letter about the audit; they're all standing up getting their two cents in supporting the all day kindergarden.
What is this about a family member using information from the audit to get jail time reduced? This is the same audit that the mayor claims no one but he has seen? |

Citizen, just wait until they get to the letter. The Mayor even kind of went after Lorrie Bruno in a way. Listen carefully to what is said. Like I said earlier, if some of this letter is factual, I wonder how much more of it is.
Oh yeah, this letter starts out calling the Mayor a liar. |

I hope I make it, massdee! So far it's been a snore. But I'm going to hang in there as long as I can, because you're comments really have me curious now! I'll be needing some extra strong coffee in the morning, though! |

I can't believe that the council president allowed the reading on a letter not signed by a crediable person, don't get me wrong, I understand McKinnon position but, there are somethings that you don't make public. As far as Bruno people who know her know she would never put her job or reputation in jeporady |

Well . . . I don't even know where to start. That letter was bizarre, to say the least. I mean . . . how was anyone supposed to respond to that? Hanlon taking a little meltdown over it, though, served no purpose, either. He should've just refused to appear to discuss it at all. And then to make the outrageous statement that Lorrie Bruno could be charged with obstruction of justice? On the one hand, he's claiming that the writer of the letter has no credibility because he/she didn't sign it; on the other, he's claiming that because she was mentioned in it, Bruno could be charged with a federal crime? Give me a break. It was a whole lot of drama with very little substance. I give credit to both Councillor Bruno and Councillor DiFlorio for maintaining their composure while it seemed that the Mayor would come unglued at any moment. |
