H1ghCh4rlty it sounds like you are a big Ragucci supporter and so wasn't I. I guess you were not around yesterday when the mayor sent all the workers home and they had to empower Jason as the acting mayor so these streets could get plowed and sanded. and if you don't believe me watch the meeting Monday nite to see this all go down. And also in front of the Board is the renewing of Chief mazzie's contract which will not pass the vote will be 5-1 and personally I hope the chief will go back being a police officer with dignity and grace that he always shows. Then new chief received a vote of confidence last week from his workers so we will all have to wait and see who that will be. also on the fire side of it I am sure there will be a new chief there also, but haven't heard anything on this subject. |

I don't understand what you mean. What workers were sent home? City Hall is closed every Friday afternoon.
And what do you mean about Jason? Are you suggesting that Jason Marcus overuled a decision by the Mayor? I am actually very concerned to hear that.

Jane - "Then new chief received a vote of confidence last week from his workers"? How does a vote of confidence for the new chief occur when the current chief is still chief?
As for Mazzie - I hope to God he stands his ground. Everyone KNOWS why Marchese wants him out...and this will be all over the papers again. Chief Mazzie did the right thing for this city, and yes, he does have dignity, but why should he have to step aside because of a drug bust at an Alderman's bar, and how is that in the best interests of this city? I think this may be grounds for a nasty little lawsuit.
And you think there will be a new fire chief as well? And you think that, why? |

Jane, who is this "new chief" you're talking about? Has Hanlon announced who he'll be putting forward to be appointed as the Police Chief? Because until he does, all else is speculation. |

I can only go by the word on the street and that is Flammia now whether that is true or not I don't know but his name has been coming up a lot lately. It will be in the malden paper first before it hits the everett papers that is why I read the malden paper I get more information about everett there. |

Jane - so what's this "poll" and how does that translate into a "vote of confidence?" A vote of confidence (or a "no confidence" vote) is typically a formal union gesture, sending a symbolic message to management. And this poll was written up in the Malden Evening News? |

Let me sum this up, in my caffeinated state, am I to understand that: 1) Marcus took over to make sure the plowing got done? (sorry - i would more easily believe he screwed it up-if anything) 2) The Malden paper wrote about a "poll" on the Everett Chief? (did they conduct the poll, or were reporting based on interviews - also, can't find a website for the paper, Jane, can you tell me where you pick it up, and when it comes out, please?) 3) The Everett Police have issued a "vote of confidence" on "new chief" Flammia? (How reliable have popularity contests provided qualified leadership? - ooops, isn't that how we get half our elected officials-LOL)
Cristiano as chief? I am afraid to say "it'll never happen" since my predictions on the mayoral race were so dismally wrong. Perhaps the meeting was to gain insight into the general attitude of the police department?
I don’t know whether to be optimistic, in Everett, or suicidal. I think for the next few months, truly, ignorance will be bliss.
