The primary is three weeks from today. Tuesday September 22nd. Campaign videos for the three Ward 2 Alderman candidates started airing on ECTV-16 last night.

Is it a citywide primary or just ward two?

Only common council seats are voted by ward only.

I hope people get out and vote in the Primary. I realize it is only one seat but it is important.

I am going to try and catch the campaign video's. Thanks for letting us know about them,, Tetris.

September 22, 2009 there will be a citywide primary where everyone needs to get out there and vote for Alderman Ward two.

City Clerk Mike Mattarazzo was saying last night that this primary is expected to have one of the lowest turnouts. If that is true, then why not one mention about it in the papers, or the City of Everett website? That should be a public service announcement.

You must be logged in to see this link. is so full of…. “Mayor does this….and Mayor does that” blah, blah blah- but not one mention of a citywide primary and reminding people to get out there and vote. I think all wards and precincts should be posted, reminding people where and when to vote.

I couldn't agree with you more, Tails. People need to get out there and vote. Even though we will all only will be voting for Alderman Ward-2, it is an important seat. The three choices are:

Councilor Steven Simonelli
Mr Dennis DiBiaise
Mr Mike Mangan

I don't have any thoughts on the results, they are actually what I expected. The thing that I was disappointing about, was I went to vote tonight, and my vote was under 50. By the evening, less than 50 people in my ward voted in a citywide primary. That's too bad.

I think the result was expected but I thought it might be a bit closer between Mangan & Simonelli. I've always felt Simonelli wants to do the right thing but his attitude and obvious anger make me very uncomfortable.............. I guess I'm not alone!

Carlo's people were out in droves last night. Ward 2 is all DeMaria, and you have the current Ward 2 Alderman Jason Marcus telling everyone - Mangan - Mangan. Steve can make up those votes citywide.

I just picked up the Ward breakdown for the Ward 2 Alderman Primary.

Mangan took 14 out of 16 precincts with a couple of ties with Simonelli. Simonelli only took 2 precincts in Ward 6. It may have been a low turn out but 359 is, percentage wise, a big gap. I'm told that Simonelli never even campaigned? I live in Ward 3 and I never saw him. Mangan came by twice.
