Today while running errands, I listened to a couple of great features on NPR on their Weekend America program. You must be logged in to see this link.
Check it out at your convenience. In hour two of the program, there was a feature on the revitalization of Lawrence and after that a feature concerning training public officials in revitalization of public spaces.
The reason I wanted to point this out was that there seems to be alot of problems coming up in Everett recently and a lot of residents have complained that they may be forced out of town due to crime and poor schools. I think the first step in stopping Everett from detriorating is to keep the long time residents here and foster community development. The police here in town won't be able to stem crime if the community's people are not invested in their neighborhoods. If people start moving out, that will be the beginning of the end.
A direct link to the audio for the whole hour (23 MB and the programs are in the second half hour of this) can be found at You must be logged in to see this link.
I am an average resident of Everett who would like to see more communication about anything and everything to do with Everett
