Well, notices were received yesterday by many in city hall, giving them a big six days notice of their termination. Now that's what I call professional. (not) |

Louie- what a putz. That blonde woman was probably Sachetta's sister, someone that David and Twinkx grew up with. Knock off the nasty insinuations - that's so "Hanlon" of you. BTW, David didn't wait until 6 days before to terminate people. You and the rest complained that David went through city hall right after the election and gave people notice, and now you're saying he did the same thing as Hanlon? You can't have it both ways. |

Louie, please be serious. First of all, let's just say for the sake of argument that you're correct (and you're not) that Ragucci gave people short notice of their termination; the Hanlon administration was supposed to be sooo different from the evil empire that was the Ragucci administration. Hanlon supposed to be this great, fair minded guy who was going to be even handed, reasonable, accessible and professional. And yet he gives people six days notice that they're out of a job? That's real professional. He's had virtually no transition time with the department heads that he's canned, and in some cases, he doesn't even have anyone in line to fill key spots.
Oh . . . one of the key spots that he is filling? The City Auditor's position . . . with former city auditor Don Andrew, who's been "consulting" with the School Department since he left City Hall and who's "bent the rules" more times than not to cover the overspending and misappropriation of funds that was uncovered by the State Audit.
God help us . . . we better start hiding our money in a shoe box |

All of the people who get pink slips were well aware of the fact that they were going. They only had one week notice officially but many of them have been searching for jobs since the election. I don't feel bad for any of them. This is what happens when you accept a job from a new administration. You know when the term is up, your job may be too.

Really, louie? Which department did you head? Are you getting your job back? John seems to want to recreate the past. |

Louie - major changes? Like Don Andrew? The guy who was our city auditor, left under a cloud and then left to "consult" for the school department. You mean the guy that hid Freddy's overspending from the public by tacking it onto the tax levy?
You may believe in this city, Louie. But do you believe that John Hanlon's connection to Fred Foresteire is good for the city? |

No, Sally, not all of the people who got pink slips were well aware that they were going. They weren't all department heads . . . there were some people in some lower level jobs who are being let go to make way for some political patronage -- like the secretary in one department who was let go to make way for a supporter's daughter.
For all the crying and gnashing of teeth that Hanlon supporters engaged in while accusing Ragucci of exercising political retribution during his tenure in office, it seems like Hanlon will be no different. And everyone knows this is how the game is played -- but Hanlon had claimed he was going to be different. Looks like he's everything his supporters have tried to tell us he wouldn't be.

louie . . . where have you been?! Hanlon is already in bed with Fred! I'd love to give him a chance, but here's the reality -- he had Fred's PR guy on his campaign payroll; he's getting financial advice from the former city auditor and current school department consultant who, by the way, has gone to great lengths to hide the fact that the School Department circumvented procedure and overspent their budget for years. He hid the overspending by applying it against the tax levy, he lied about the legality of a bogus Medicare revolving account also designed to protect the School Department while violating Department of Revenue advisories, and he tried to tap dance his way out of it by claiming he had a letter from the DOR authorizing the fund when, in fact, no such letter existed.
No, louie, we don't have Hanlon jumping into bed with Fred. They've been cozy under the covers for some months now. |
