Lis...you hit the nail on the head. Don't forget the people that John has now let go at Fred's bidding. Mazzie...because he wouldn't hide the OC problem at Everett High, and Coppola, because he dared reveal the overspending and mismanagement at the school department. That's why John is using Donald in the Auditor's office, because he always did what Fred said and Coppola wouldn't. It's what Fred wants............
Yeah, Louie - time to face facts. I would suggest that John and Fred have been more than a little close for some time now. |

You can disagree all you want, louie -- the fact is that Don Andrew will be back in the Auditor's Office on Wednesday morning. The fact is the Hanlon made a Faustian deal with Foresteire to help get him elected, and now the Devil will be looking for payback.

| C'mon Liz...do you really think that Louie knows of Faust? Louie, you've never answered the question; given the deep association of John Hanlon with Fred Foresteire (you can't ignore the hires and fires, not to mention that John Dowd, Fred's PR guy was on Hanlon's campaign payroll) are you comfortable with this, given that Hanlon ran on integrity and honesty? Or is it just words to get elected? |

| If you people remember correctly David Ragucci walked into City Hall right after the election in 1997 with his posse with their trenchcoats and cigars like Al Capone and a bunch of his thugs and started picking people off one by one. He eliminated just about every department head up there so let's not put the green and white spin on this thing. As far as Borgonzi he is staying as well as Latorelli. Coppolla, Jordan, Gregory, Spaulding, Eisan, Murray, Sansone have already been told to leave. I do know for sure that Bill Bowridge will be taking over the Rec Center, but i have been hearing on a part time basis. Also Julius and the rest of the good folks in the Engineering department will also be staying put. Anybody know what position John Ragucci will be getting? |

If anyone is spinning here, it's the Hanlon people, who claimed John would never just systematically eliminate people for political purposes -- they claimed that John would never be retaliatory. They claimed that John would not engage in political cronyism or nepotism. And yet . . . look at what he's doing. He's putting Don Andrew back in the auditor's office . . . Don Andrew, who was an "advisor" on his campaign and has been doing "consulting" work for the school department; Jack Doyle's daughter is getting a secretarial job; and let's see what former Alderman Mike Marchese gets out of this, after his little "wink and a nod" to Hanlon in his farewell speech last week.
The issue is not whether this is "what they all do." The issue is that Hanlon and his group claimed they were going to be different.
And it's about time the Hanlon supporters stopped using the stereotype you used here, justthfcts. It's small minded and childish.

Justthfcts - your name doesn't match your agenda. It should be "Justthespin." Let's go over this again. David kept on: Don Andrew, the auditor, until December 2003. He retired. Dom D'Angelo, the Treasurer, until 2004. He was fired for cause, you know. Robert Jordan, the Assistant City Solicitor. (Krusevich retired) Ron Keohane, from the Assessor's Office was kept on until 2003, when the budget cuts from the state hit. Paul Kelley, the parking clerk, was actually brought back. The fact of the matter is that David kept on the department heads or subheads of the Big 3 of finance - Treasurer, Auditor and Assessor.
And justthfcts...the whole Capone thing with the cigar and trenchcoat is just so....ignorant. Just when I thought Everett had moved beyond characterizing people by their ethnicity...then you come along. The last time I checked, we were Americans. |
