Heard a rumor that there's a joint convention and special meetings of the CC and BOA scheduled for Monday night. Anybody know what that might be about? Of course, there's no agenda posted for them on the city web site and city hall is closed today so we can't even see if there are agendas posted on the bulletin board. |

just heard through the grapevine the over night stickers have went up 100% since school is starting in two weeks, I know it's possible more kids coming to Everett, but living somewhere else. register your car here get a parking sticker then wait a week to un-register your car in Everett to the city where you really live.
Can you say a Red Flag |

The price of a parking sticker is set by ordinance (18-149). However, If this rumor is true, it wouldn't be the first time that a fee was changed without addressing the ordinance. |

I am not talking fee teteris I was talking increase in giving them out two weeks before school starts, the lines have been long again. 100% more stickers have been given out to new people moving into the city as stated above register your car, get a sticker wait the time line and change back to your city you really live in |

Sorry, I didn't get that. Thanks for the clarification. You're right; sounds like a red flag. The information ought to be turned over to the school department for investigation. |

Residential parking is from 12:00am to 6:00am. Are the hours getting extended? I would be in favor of that. |

Of course there will be changes........ Michelle refers to herself as the Director of Information Services & Parking Clerk although her appointment was as the Parking Clerk/Hearing Officer.
Former co-workers say she's our new CFO!!
The Parking Clerks Office is the only department in the city that actually adds money to the coffers yet he's willing to let it go to hell so he can have what he wants. That department has been functioning with no direction since Mr Kelly left & his "replacement" is doing other things. Does anyone really think Mr Kelly didn't do anything while he was there?
Wish I could move............. |

She will never be CFO I dont' think the BOA will pass it. She is calling in all the passes from the Seniors, and rolling out a new one on Sept. 1st because.. RITA'S CATERING got alot of parking passes that were meant for the seniors. Whoever issued Rita's those parking passes had no right to do it. New people are being interviewed today for jobs, more people from Winthrop. She has cart blanche from the mayor to make the dept. |

Now that Career Source has moved to Chelsea, the money spent on intalling meters in the Spring Street parking lot really doesn't seem to be have been a very good investment. |

I dont know. No parking lot at the Connolly Center for the seniors. They need somewhere to park and Spring Street is a city owned lot reasonably close by. Ritas and Career Source were using this lot as their own private parking lot. If the meters forced them to stop doing that then its worth it for the elderly to have a space available to them. |

It always seemed a bit harsh to me to force unemployed people to pay to park down there. Really, isn't it bad enough to be unemployed, never mind having to pay to park while you file or get unemployment assistance? |
