The Alderman's meeting of 5/22/06 was an interesting one. For the first time Carlo challenged Johnny and Johnny was a bit upset. As a matter of fact the Board of Alderman didn’t look to happy and I don’t think the Common Council is going to be happy either. Since according to Mayor Hanlon, the DA is going to bring some charges to the two bodies for violating an open meeting law. Is the honeymoon over?

Does anybody really believe John Hanlon? He has always made stuff up. Does anyone remember the big time developer whom John Hanlon said would invest one million dollars in Everett? It was during the 2003 campaign. Yeah....where is that developer now? Did he lose his way to Everett? Has John put out on APB on him? |

Well, the council meeting of 6/5/06 was a fun one! I'm glad Don Andrew finally got a boot in the ass. That arrogant, bastard was somewhat put in his place at least. Hanlon wasn't going to raise taxes, but, Donny wanted 35,000 bucks to get a group to see how much water rates should be raised. I'm glad the council voted no, essentially told Donny where to put it, and sent a clear message to Hanlon. |

So, the high school, which was supposed to be set aside for affordable assisted living for local elderly and disabled people....is where John Hanlon wants to put the fire/police and 911 station.
God love the man - he really is tone deaf. |

So, when was the old high school supposed to be turned into a police, fire, 911, airport, hair care, and tire center? Boy Barry, can you say flop? I think I know why Hanlon wants this though. Supposedly, it would be cheaper to have one huge mega center than to have an x amount of separate buildings. Hello! Hello McFly! We were told that the new pre-k to 8th grade schools were going to save us energy and money. They’re so big and gluttonous for energy they're costing us more. So, would a 24 -hour mega emergency center really save money? I mean we're already 9 million in the red so, ya I can see how this consolidation can work. I loved Hickey at the meeting though. I'm glad he said what he did. And I'm also glad Hanlon has all this money to throw around. Aren't you? |
