budget hearing, David Ravanesi was openly soliciting council members to find one, just one, who would say,"the grilling and scrutiny of this administration was unprecendented and uncalled for; never before has any administration gone through this kind of thing." The councilor suckered by Mr. Ravanesi to actually get up and defend this mess of a budget was Ward 1 Councilor Michael Mangan. It's a sad day for Ward 1.

Never before has any administration gone through this kind of thing? They're kidding, right? They should go back and review the tapes of some of their own meetings. Shame on Mangan if he allowed himself to be suckered by the likes of David Ravanesi. You shake that man's hand, you better count your fingers when you're done.
And with an extra $10 million added to the budget, shouldn't the administration be grilled? This adminstration that was going to streamline government and put a freeze on new hires? This administration that has added new positions to the payroll for political hacks looking to pad their pension or retain their health insurance? Let's see -- David Ravanesi has been brought on as a consultant. Has anyone seen the specs for this consulting position? Was it put out to bid, as it's required to be? Let's see the specs and the other bids. No . . . wait . . . there aren't any!

I never heard Mangan say those words, maybe I missed it.
I did hear him say he hoped that people weren't playing politics with the budget.
Personally, from what I have seen of Mangan I think he does a fine job. |

Did Hanlon's administration really think they could hide Rav's new job in the Budget Office under "Assistant to the Mayor/Budget Director?" What qualifications are required? Ability to shake someone down without shame? What a hoot when asked why this postion wasn't "in the Mayor's Office?" The budget meetings are such a joke. God Bless our city. |

Is Ravanesi a full time employee again? I thought he was a "consultant"? Did they manage to actually make him an employee of the city again? |

Rav's official title is constituent services/budget. Now what he does with that title is the better question. And Bevely Dorman’s title is internal city auditor. So, whats our city auditor? An associate? Boy, I feel like City Hall is like the school department now. You have an associate to the assistant to the second associate of the 5th assistant to the tertiary, adjunct, auxiliary, auditor. |

That's exactly what FFF wanted...for our city to becoming like the School Dept. |

Damn straight, Genuine. Convoluted is what it's getting.
So how does everybody feel about the extra 34 employees on the payroll that Mr. "Hiring Freeze" hired in the last six months? 34!
I've been told there are only 2 things in public life that are a sure thing.
1. The unforseen will happen.
2. Hubris will do you in every time. Hubris is that exaggerated pride or self-confidence that results in retribution of some sort. |
