Yeah, that's a real funny joke, Rex. I'm sure Mitchell has meant it to be humorous, too, spreading that kind of crap in his alleged newspaper. What's funny, though, is that Mitchell isn't exactly a tea totaller. |

Well, Frank couldn't have been too troubled by it, because he had people out delivering that piece of trash door to door the Sunday before the election, so Frank's claims that he never engages in negative campaigning ring pretty hollow. |

I think you're right...however as much as Frank denied any responsibility for the negative garbage in the Advocate, he then went and had it delivered. I'm equally as certain that he had nothing to do with the robocalls on Tuesday too. |

Can someone explain how a candidate gets 500 absentee votes out of a total of 3,000 ?
Is there any rule on who can vote absentee ballot or can anyone vote that way ?
THANKS ! |

So Richie - you're alleging improprieties? I hope you've got proof of that. That would also have to mean that the registrar of voters and the city clerk were in on it too.
You know - this was one of the nastiest campaigns I've ever seen, and still they won't quit. |

I asked a simple question--that is an enormous percentage of absentee ballots !!!!!
Can you answer the question?
Maybe there is an explanation. |

Let's see....over 6000 people voted and how many absentee ballots were there? 500? Looks like less than 10% |

First of all 10% is very high for absentees in an election BUT we are talking about SMITH having 500 absentee ballots out of 3,000 votes he got or close to 17% of his total vote.
If you take Smith's absentee votes away he loses the election by 300 votes !
I believe Nuzzo had about 50 absentee ballots---
I really had 2 questions--
#1--Why was Smith's absentee ballot count so high--if someone knows
#2-Are there resrictions or rules for people voting absentee or can anyone vote absentee under any circumstances ?
EYE ON BALL--I really don't know why you are acting so defensive about this--I really don't know the answer to either question. |

Paul - this is not defensive...this was just working out the math. From what Ive heard, Smith's absentee ballot count was so high because he did the voter identification and outreach. See, you actually have to do work to win elections, you can't expect Uncle Freddy to hand it to you through a series of nasty editorials in the Advocate.
2. Here are the rules on absentee ballots. You must be logged in to see this link.
