Wrong! The person shot was 18 and the shooter was older than that. Thye were not high school students. I think you are thinking of the stabbing in front of Papa Jack's.

Wow. There is so much I guess I can not keep it straight. Sad! Two of my children were at the Park at the time of the incident one in the Camp and the other working at the Rec, it was horrible.

To me it is a bad idea. Who will enforce it? The police have enough to do without babysitting.

The police do have alot to do but, don't you think that if some of the younger trouble makers were off the city streets it would lighten the load? |

I listen to a scanner all the time. I do not hear that the younger people are causing much of the trouble. The drunk adults coming out of the bars worry me more than the kids.

I don't know about that one. I have the SAME group of teenagers (young ones) outside of my garage (which is detached from my home and under a large tree) probably every other night, sitting in front of it, getting high. I call every time and the police come, search them,I assume find nothing on them, send them on thier way. If this curfew was in effect they can grab them on this. So, why not have the police just take them to the station and have them call a parent to retrieve them. It is ussually around 10:00pm. when this goes down. I have gone as far as to take pictures of these kids getting high from right outside my window to prove what is going on here. |

No the police should not take a kid home at 10pm if they are not doing anything. If they were getting high they would be taken in. Stop blaming all the kids.

I am not saying they have to go around looking for some kids to break this curfew but, if it was in place than when the police come out to a disturbance call and/or weed smoking call they can bring these kids down to the station (not there houses), even if they don't find anything in thier possesion, and call thier parents to come retrive them. I think that the kids as well as parents will get sick of this quick and you will see less kids hanging out with nothing to do except cause trouble. |

You said this was happening at 10pm? The curfew will be at 11pm so that would not help you. The kids want to go out and see their friends. I find many parents will not allow the kids to hang out in their own homes. I let all of my kids friends inhere. That way I know where my kids are and I know they are safe. It is a pain at times but I think it is worth it. Most of the kids in this city are good kids. The few bad apples give all of the rest a bad name. I do not want Jason Marcus telling me when my kids should be home since it is none of his business.

I missunderstood than. I thought it was 10:00. I too am one of those parents that ALWAYS has everyone here. Like these kids don't have homes of thier own. It does get VERY annoying sometimes, but, like you, at least we know where our kids are. |
