Thanks for the kind sentiments.
As Barak Obama said, I have thought about it. As a parent who wants to make a difference, I wouldn't mind taking an active role in school board decisions. However, I just started my tenure as a Boston Public Schools Teacher and I don't think I would do the position justice because I currently already serve on several committees on behalf of my school where I work. The Boston Public Schools have a number of issues, mostly involving discipline and criminal influence, that affect education of young people there. Maybe in a few years, I will be in a better position to serve, but now I think I would be portrayed as too young and inexperienced to be credible as a solid candidate for office.
Currently, I am trying to support the schools where I can afford to. I kind of like not being beholden to anyone also....
