I know they arrested an Everett high student for the beating on Fairlawn Street. They got her for unarmed robbery and assault. She stole the girls cell phone. She is a 16 year old sophmore.

It sure did. One week in the life of Everett citizens. The robbery at the Bucknam Market was yesterday. |

I went out and bought a police scanner. You will not believe all the things that go on in this city. And this is with the school committee covering up EVERYTHING that goes on in the high school. How about the quarter stick of dynamite that a former student set off in the school? How did he get in? I called the press and of course there was no comment from Vine Street so they had no story. The kids smoking weed on the loading docks during school who were never reprimanded because of who their parents are. it goes on and on and on.

That's very disturbing, Sally, but I have to ask -- where are the parents? Why aren't there weekly marches by parents into the high school or down to Vine Street? Where is the parental outrage over the conditions at the high school? That's what I don't understand.
Charter schools and home schooling starts to look better and better all the time.
Remember . . . we have a convicted felon running the school system's maintenance department and a Superintendent on probation . . . these are some great role models, huh? |

And right away the Kane wants to know what the parents are doing -- Like the fight at the high school was the major issue that he posted-- don't the robberies and the beating outside of school concern you ? Get a grip, please ! His case is going to be dismissed---Get another whipping boy !

Paul . . . how flattering that you're monitoring my posts. But . . . if you could focus for just a tiny moment you will see that my comment referred to the posting by Sally that immediately preceded mine.
You have a nice evening. |

On Thursday there were a bunch of kids arrested after school at the high school. From what I hear an oficer asked a masked kid to take off his mask and he swung at the officer and then his friends tried to join in. He was a former student but some of his friends were EHS students.I saw a bunch of them being put into the wagon. They announced yesterday at the High School that you could be arrested for standing infront of the school after 2:15 , nice huh! I understand the police position I just cannot believe it has come to this. There were two more of the accomplices arrested in school yesterday. I also think we should all start making phone calls to get an ordinance so that if there are calls for the police at a rental property the landlord is notified. Last night there was some incident at Dunkin Donuts on Broadway with a bunch of people arrested. It was a 911 call and an alarm that sent them there so god knows what happened.

I also felt bad about the officer. He is the school safety officer from what I hear. I sit outside the high school everyday waiting for my kids and the cops are always there in force but the kids have no respect for them. There are several arrests a week after school. If the parents cannot control them they amy need to start pushing for CHINS or some sort of program to scare them straight. I do not know what the cops can do when the parents are raising disrespectful kids.

Sally do you really think that you are doing your kids any justice by sitting outside of the high school waiting for them to come out? You should be teaching them independance and what life is really about, not just here, but everywhere. They are in High school you have to let them grow up a bit. They WILL make mistakes, no matter how good of a Mom you are. You can't be by thier side every step of the way in life. |

Sorry if I have been in the wrong place, is this a parenting board?? I pick up my kids because we live a good distance from the school. I also go to an elementary school after the high school to pick up another one of my children, imagine that. I do not need to teach them any lessons, but thanks. They live in Everett where they learn lessons all the time. I am not going ot let them walk all over the city and wait for something to happen to them so when they are hurt or dead I can say I was trying to make them more independent. Thanks though for the advice, you have any kids?
