Great, than you understand why I would rather my kids not walk home after school. They do have a choice and they choose to be picked up.

Hello. My thought (although not asked for)on the subject of children (Highschool Children) not walking home from school is that your children will probably end up afraid of everything and have a anxiety disorder over it. |

Hmmmmmm - Sorry Home - I disagree profoundly with you. There are areas of this city in which you really don't want your kid walking home in. It's a parent's call and since you don't know where these people live, it's unfair of you to make such a judgement call. |

Thanks Court. My kids are very independent. I think my picking them up is more because they are too lazy to walk! LOL I have walked /driven them to and from school since preschool. My daughter works and is going off to college next fall. She is not disturbed because I drive and pickup from school. My youngest would be walking alone both ways if I did not drive her. She is in a school ouside of our district since we lived there when she started school and we did not want to switch after we moved. My son would walk everyday, but since I am going his way anyways he comes with me. I work evenings so I like to spend a few minutes with them before I am off to work. And they even stay home alone if their dad is not home on time which happens a lot since he works a ton of overtime.

I saw that....things are changing, aren't they? It isn't just the holidays; we had robberies over the spring and summer - unless someone wants to suggest that the robbers didn't want to miss the Memorial Day or July 4th holiday sales or something.
I share your frustration. Let's hope the police catch the perps! |

I don't understand why it is so easy to rob the bank INSIDE a supermarket. There are people around everywhere in there and anyone with sunglasses or a hat should be noticed before they even get up to the counter. This is ridiculous

It made the news? I listened to it on the scanner and I knew of a few of the young adults who were involved. I do not believe they are gang members at all, just punks who need to grow up. Isn't there something we can do about people who live in public housing commiting crimes? I know in some places it would cost them their apartments. One of these young adults is constantly startig fights with people.

The Everett Housing Authority does evict those accused of crimes. It can be a long process and would probably go to court. At that point you hope you don't get a soft judge. |

Not to make light of a crime, but this was a domestic situation between a husband and wife. Just so we do not have people thinking we have some stranger going around stabbing people. By the way you all need to get scanners. I get all my news from them.

I naturally assumed it was gang related.
Thanks for the clarification, Sally
